Why was my deposit delayed?

Are you talking about your merchant services deposit? Mine hasn't gone through today either.

Why was my deposit delayed?

Good morning, @airfx

It's great to see a new face here in the Community. I'd be glad to offer some assistance with your delayed deposit question. Helping out with deposits are my specialty.

Since your deposit is taking longer than usual, here are a few things you can do:

Step 1: Check the transactions in the batch

Sometimes a batch that includes a refund, return, or credit, can delay the deposit for up to six calendar days, if:

  • Sales that we already deposited to your bank are processed.
  • The total of the return, refund, or credit may be more than the threshold for your business. Note: In a single deposit it shouldn't be more than $100.

Step 2: Reach out to your bank

In some circumstances, banks will hold onto funds after we deposit them. The reason for this is that you may need to take some additional required steps with your banks. I recommend reaching out to them.

In the end, you can always contact our Merchant Services Support Team. They have advanced tools to help look further into the system to see why your deposit is delayed. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help icon in the top right-hand corner.
  2. Click the Contact Us button.
  3. Type in Delayed Deposit and then hit Let's Talk
  4. Scroll down and choose to Get a callback

It's that easy. For future reference, you can always check the deposit speed in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) for helpful information on where your money is.

After reviewing these details, you should have a better understanding of why your money is being delayed. It's my priority that you're able to get back to running your business. I'm only a post away if you need me. Have an amazing Wednesday!

Why was my deposit delayed?

Yes, I got a message that the deposit was delayed.  No explanation.  Spoke with Customer Service and they said it appeared to be a computer generated issue that has hit the system .  No other info. or time when it would be corrected.  Nothing else to do .

Why was my deposit delayed?

Was there some sort of issue yesterday? We have had online payment processing through QB for 2 years now.  Almost 250K processed with no issues, and out of the blue a 5K client payment was delayed "for review".  No other information provided.  This is a long time client who has made several large payments from the same account.  Our bank account has remained the same since our account was opened.  We pay the $10 per transaction fee for next day ACH payments.  It's a week before Christmas and I can't pay my workers or my bills due to this issue.  I can't seem to get any information except generic messages on why it could be delayed.  My customer is upset as the money was already withdrawn from their account. My bank is reporting that Quickbooks has not issued the deposit so the problem is with QB, not with sending or receipant bank.  This is absolutely unacceptable.  I could understand if I was a new client, or if my receiving bank account had recently changed. I'm already paying $70 for the software, plus 3% on credit card transactions and the $10 per ACH transaction fee.  I shouldn't have to chase customer payments down.  Especially during a pandemic where I have had to do everything I can just to stay in business.

Why was my deposit delayed?

Well at least I know it isn't just my business.  They seriously didn't give you any other information? That is completly unacceptable.  Being a small business during the currently econonic conditions caused by the global pandemic is hard enough.  Not being able to pay our bills, suppliers and workers due to what is apparently a computer glitch is ridiculous.  Someone needs to be addressing this immediately. At this point I'm ready to just have my client cancel the transaction with her bank, write me a check, and close my QB account.  I pay an exorbitant amount of fees to have to tell my clients a week before Christmas that I may not be able to pay them.

Why was my deposit delayed?

Strangely we've also seen a couple of deposits get delayed in the past 24 hours. It seems like there's a QBO glitch, because our deposits go through every single day without issue.

Why was my deposit delayed?

I’ve now been talking to QB for over a hour and a half and via three different departments trying to sort this out. Online support referred me to payment support who referred me to operational support. This is ridiculous.  My client is upset as the funds have been removed from her bank, my workers are upset because they were to be paid today, and I can’t pay my bills. This is not how you treat long time customers!

Why was my deposit delayed?

I understand the impact of any delay in receiving your customers' payments, @airfx.

Funds usually reach your deposit bank account within 2-3 business days of the transaction. Let me share some information about QuickBooks payment processing time.

When your clients pay online via credit card, the estimated time for payments to deposit is 5-7 banking days. However, ACH payments take 2-7 days to hit your bank account. Here are the other possible reasons why your payments were not yet deposited:

  • Time of day you enter transactions.
  • Weekends and federal holidays.
  • The financial institution where transactions are deposited.
  • How long it takes for your bank to verify and process electronic deposits.

Here's how to check the status of your deposit:

  1. Sign in to the Merchant Service Center.
  2. You'll see the word Withheld in the Method column.
    • This is to indicate that the payment is on hold and we're reviewing it.

If you received an email stating that funds are on hold, it means that there was something unexpected in the deposit that we’d like to look at. Here are some common reasons for holds:

  • When your payment processing exceeds the established maximum dollar amount expected on your account.
  • When a transaction is processed after several authorization attempts and failures.
  • When certain transactions require verification of your business type to ensure it is compliant with the Intuit Acceptable Use Policy.
  • When our systems identify processing patterns that pose a risk to any of the parties involved: You, your customer, or Intuit.

Usually, we ask for more info so we can complete our review within 2 business days. Once completed, we can finish processing the payment. You can read through this article to learn more: Why are my funds on hold?

Since the Community page is a public forum, I'd recommend contacting our Payments Support team. They have the tools to securely pull up your account and check the status of your deposits.  Here's how to contact us:

  1. Visit: https://community.intuit.com/browse/payments-contact-us.
  2. Choose the specific Merchants Service product you're using.

Lastly, I'm adding these articles to get more details in handling deposits in QuickBooks Online:

Don't hesitate to let me know if I can be of additional assistance. Cheering your business to continued success.

Why was my deposit delayed?

This response makes no sense. The issue isn’t with the payments-it is with your service. My bank as well as my clients bank are reporting that QB is the issue. The client paid with an account they use every time they make a payment. It isn’t an unusual amount for our business. Our receiving bank account is the same it has always been. The money has been removed from her account. I have been passed from department to department for over 2 hours now and no one can give me an answer as to where my clients payment is and when it will deposited. I pay a ridiculous amount of money to QB for next day, and in many cases instant deposits.

Dear QuickBooks,

Clearly your answer is BS. Take a look at how many of us have had issues in the last 24 hours. The problem is on YOUR END, not with our QB accounts or banks! Please get with your people and rectify this ASAP for all the small businesses that need the money that belongs to us!

Why was my deposit delayed?

I wanted to post the results of my conversation with Operational Support today. They reported a computer glitch caused payment delays for over 120k customers. They are resolving it and expect funds to be deposited in 1-2 hours. They said anyone affected should call or reach out via the chat function on your desktop or online dashboard and speak to operational support so they can make sure you are added to the open investigation. I hope this eases anyone affected’s minds :)

I have 3 deposits that are delayed or IN REVIEW.  Says to check my email for more details and I have yet to receive an email regarding my delayed deposits.  I am expecting another deposit on Friday.  Will this deposit be delayed also?  I need my deposits to pay bills and employees.

Why was my deposit delayed?

This seems like the same statement I have received any time I have had problems with anything on QuickBooks.  I am having the same issues as others. I have had the service for 2 years and never had this issue with receiving funds. Same customer, accounts, credit cards, etc. And magically one day there's a problem. The customer report claims are useless because they questions go unanswered and you never "receive and email about the progress with the problem".

Why was my deposit delayed?

Hi everyone,

Engineers have identified the root cause and are actively working to get merchants' funds released today. Intuit Payments experienced an issue with Next Day Funding deposits on December 15th, which has caused the delay in funding on Dec 16th. You may see your deposit status as "In Review." Please check back on the status of this deposit after 5:00 PM PST. We are currently attempting to resolve this issue, and fund our merchants as soon as possible. Refer to this link for more info: https://status.quickbooks.intuit.com/.

Please keep us posted on the status of your deposits. We're here to make sure everything is taken cared of.

Why was my deposit delayed?

The status of my deposit did update to being funded.  I am pretty frustrated that I was told earlier today by Operational Support that the funds would be in my account in 1-2 hours (I clarified specifically "in my account"), however my deposit screen now shows that the deposit will not be until tomorrow. The customers affected (myself included) by this bug are ones that pay an additional fee for next day deposits-the least we should see is a refund of the fee.  Is there a reason these deposits could not be instantly deposited? Is there a dollar amount limitation for that?  Just pretty frustrated that my workers hung around as I was told the money would be there today so I could do payroll, only to find out I wasted their time.

Why was my deposit delayed?

This is not the experience we want you to have, @wingerworks2019.

Thank you for letting us know about the current status of the deposit. I can see that there's an ongoing issue with Payments accepted on 12/14/20-12/15/20. Our Product Engineering team has already identified the cause of the issue and is now working to get merchants funds released today. Please check back on the status of this deposit after 5:00 PM PST.

The Instant Funding allows for deposits between $1 to $2,000 up to three times a day, not to exceed the $2,000 amount per day. Deposits will be funded to a linked, supported debit card. I'm adding these articles for more details:

If the payment will be received tomorrow and you'll be charged for an additional fee, then I suggest reaching out to our Customer Support to check if you can request for a refund. They can get into your account in a secure environment and validate this request.

You can reach our Customer Support for QuickBooks Online (QBO) by going to the Help icon at the top right of the account. Follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Help icon to connect to a live support agent.
  2. Provide us with some information about your concern.
  3. Select the Contact Us button and provide some details about this concern, then on the Let's talk button.
  4. You'll now be provided options on how to connect to our Customer Support.

Here's the contact the QuickBooks Online Customer Support team article for more information.

I'm always here if you have any additional concerns with your deposit and or anything else with your account. Thanks for coming to the Community, wishing you continued success!

Why was my deposit delayed?

This has been ongoing.  The merchant services provided by QBO is terrible and good luck getting any support.  You'll spend your whole day being transferred around and ultimately disconnected/hung up on.  I turned off paying invoices through QBO, so I thought but apparently, the merchant account overrides user settings because somehow my client was still somehow able to pay their invoice even though I specifically turned off credit card payments.  The who thing is shady and misleading.  When am I going to pay fees to a merchant that takes over a week to process payments when I can send and receive money instantly and for free using Zelle?  I have been a long-time user going back more than 20 years and Intuit products and customer services are on a serious downhill slide.  QBO was better before they made a bunch of changes over the last year.  Trying to correct inventory mistakes is impossible.  You can't delete or merge items.  It's beyond frustrating.  And what about Mac users who have no alternatives except to  find a Windows computer tto download their company file to desktop so they can covert the to Mac.  Makes no sense!

Why was my deposit delayed?

Yup January 13,2022 and my deposit has been delayed 7 days after a year making deposits. As soon as this is done, I’m transferring out of QuickBooks. Nothing but headache after headache. Delay our deposits so Intuit can use our money to fund their bank activities. No bueno. Done! Boo!
