I understand that you need to update the template when you edit the transaction created from the recurring template. I'm here to help you with it.
Upon checking, the Update the recurring template pop-up is still available.
We need to make sure that we edit the right transactions. Another possible reason for this behavior is the browser. You'll want to use an incognito window and edit them from there. These are some of the shortcut keys:
Incognito won't save site data so you can access QuickBooks Online smoothly. Also, you'll want to clear the cache to fix browser-related errors. Lastly, make sure that you're using an up-to-date browser cause the old versions can cause issues too.

Alex, apparently Intuit is having a problem with this pop up on recurring transactions. They tell me that they're working on it and I would get an email when they have fixed the problem. I haven't heard from them yet. It has nothing to do with my computer.
