As a LONG, LONG time QB user, I could not agree with you more! This absurd transition to online was the biggest mistake I have made in years. We had the old QB Desktop, it worked like a charm, it was easy to correct mistakes, everything was automatic AND it put all the expenses in the right place. The ONLINE version is missing everything my accountants need to pay our taxes. This is going to end up costing us a fortune.
Agreed!!! If Intuit wanted it to be different..... it would be different!
I won thousand percent agree with you this is a total POS company with POS customer service oh yeah I'm sorry I couldn't even call it service since nobody knows what the hell is going on there though they act like they do
And what's with all of the home My God these are my books not yours
yes but they've still got their grubby little fingers on everything like they do in online having to call customer service gives me PTSD
I have been paying for payroll service since October 2023 and still cannot use direct deposit because they will not let go of their hold on it when I was using QuickBooks online which is garbage
guess who purchased QuickBooks desktop in October 2023 and has tried tirelessly to migrate but guess what QBO will not let us go. They have made it virtually impossible to migrate it has been an uphill battle and I still cannot use direct direct deposit I have spent over 10 hours in customer service calls with zero resolution
have you actually switched to desktop from a large company that was using QuickBooks online for 12 years they won't let it happen
I agree, in fact it is so bad, that you can't even write a proposal in QuickBooks. They limit the header to say estimate, when my customers will not receive an estimate they want a proposal. This should be a simple function yet they're not able to make it

I agree, and the so-called experts are no experts at all! You can never talk to a manager, it is so bad, that you can't even write a proposal in QuickBooks. How are you supposed to sell anything, since most customers want an actual price, not an estimate. They limit the header to say estimate, My customers will not receive an estimate they want a proposal with a price for the job. This should be a simple function yet they're not able to make it happen, shame for laziness on their part. I predict they will be out of business in a short time!
This is a terrible company, and the CEO should be fired!
Invoicing is a tool (the way we communicate with clients to get our money to sustain our businesses). QB is all about making phone users happy with click of a button frills that delight the few while completely wiping out the basic functions that have been developed for years (and still not perfect) that could actually create invoices that communicated what our clients need to pay and what they still owe. So out of touch they are! And all of the people begging for the same statement and invoice capabilities are left unheard. It's evil in my opinion. It is neglect. It is abusive.
I am glad to see other companies developing competitive bookkeeping solutions. When they get it down, Intuit will die. They will pay the price someday.
How do you find the Desktop Pro version? That link just takes me to online versions.
You must call their sales team by phone to get QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus. Another option, contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA to get it + you can also get $100 cashback.
I have information about purchasing the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Pro version, Doolin. Let me point you in the right direction for assistance.
Since you're interested in utilizing the Desktop Pro version to manage your business, it's important to note that Intuit will no longer be selling Desktop products like QBDT Pro Plus, Premier Plus, Mac Plus, and Enhanced Payroll to new users after July 31, 2024. However, existing users can still purchase and use the program and renew after this date.
With this, I recommend contacting our Sales Department team. They can provide you with the details on how to get this. You can find the Talk to Sales with the contact number at the top right corner or click the icon below this link to reach them.
Moreover, you might want to explore our QBDT Enterprise version, which offers comprehensive features such as accounting, inventory management, reporting, pricing rules, job costing, payroll, and time tracking in one place.
For further guidance on setting up your account and other tasks, you can refer to this article: Get Started with QuickBooks Desktop.
I'll be right here in the Community if you have any other queries about QuickBooks. I'd be glad to provide answers to help. Stay safe always!
Here's what the greedy monsters at Intuit won't share with you...the link to "upgrade" to their outrageously priced QBDT Pro Plus 2024 subscription:
https://quickbooks.intuit.com/email/final-desktop-plus-sale/
The "plus" must stand for extra greed and revulsion for its existing, long-term user base because there's nothing special about this version other than the bloated cost ($649 for one year vs the $299 for three years it used to cost).
@BDoolinHere's the link to buy Desktop 2024 without having to waste any more time with the shysters at Intuit than you have to.
quickbooks.intuit.com/email/final-desktop-plus-sale/
They keep pushing Enterprise but it is over kill for the general public. It is for someone with thousands of vendors and needs inventory. If they understood their general population they would have enough common knowledge to realize most small businesses dont do either
I would not recommend this link for purchasing a license
quickbooks.intuit.com/email/final-desktop-plus-sale/
I and many of my clients were using it but we didn't receive a license. We had to contact their Sales team by phone and they were being stupid as usual. We had to waste time canceling the transaction with our bank. I would recommend to take at least 1 hour of your time to contact their sales team or contact Fiat Lux by email to get a cashback.
I used it and it worked fine. Received my code immediately upon purchase and without issue (other than being robbed by Intuit).
From what you described, you're going to spend an hour on the phone with Intuit either way. So I advise others to take the path of least resistance and use the link to "upgrade" to the ever-so-stunning Plus Pro 2024 that Intuit forced us to use.
Let's get a lawsuit going.
The more I use this software the more I see the grift. Countless fees, no support, zero project management pieces, they cant even do a simple ACH with out holding your funds for 5 days to earn interest, then charge a fee for doing so. I could have had a check faster, but felt it was simpler for the customer, well we are eliminating that right now. I pay through the nose for this software for the three businesses that use it, and would rather go back to just owning my accounting software rather than this monthly bs for a service that completely sucks. Watch these guys they take every penny they can and hold your money as long as they can, simply because we as customers dont demand a better platform.
Quickbooks is the biggest waste of money, dont get grifted!
Worst app ever. After 25+ years as a loyal consumer of QB desktop, we were forced into the online platform. It is a nightmare! It is not INTUITive at all. Harder to set-up, less functionality, and all of the seamless transition I was promised . . . non existent!
I agree 100% !!! It’s the most none sensical, illogical and disgusting software ever created
It’s all bad. IT WAS BUILT ON THE PLATFORM INTUIT ORIGINALLY CREATED FOR APPLE AND IT DIDN’T SELL.
I ALSO HEARD (BUT DIDN’T VERIFY YET) THAT EVERYONE WHO SIGNS UP FOR THE ONLINE VERSION AGREES TO SHARE HIS QB INFORMATION WITH THE IRS. ITS IN THE SMALL PRINT OF THE USER AGREEMENT
Couldn’t agree more. What was once a flawless product is now glitchy, full of bugs, less intuitive, and it takes more steps to accomplish the same tasks. I used to recommend QB without hesitation, ever since the new online rollout I tell people to stay away. They really dropped the ball on this. The old program was easy to use and worked flawlessly, I don’t know why they chose to tinker with it. And it seems they didn’t trouble shoot the new program at all. The new slogan for Quickbooks should be, “Sixty percent of the time it works every time.” Absolute failure of a product launch.
