Does anyone know when updates will be finalized for State forms? I was hoping to get started on payroll returns, but the first Colorado Withholding form (DR1094) I processed prints "DO NOT USE. FORM NOT FINAL." Disappointing that it is Jan 4 and this is not ready to go!
I agree. Come on QB. I'm stuck at this point and can't finish any client payroll for Q4, nor do their W-2s.
Hello there, @bbzf, BH89.
I see how important to get your state form finalized in QuickBooks. As of now, we're unable to provide specific dates when these forms will be ready in QBDT. But normally, these will be available at the end of the year or within the first or second week of January 2021.
We'll keep you updated with its availability through email or in-app notifications. Ensure you're payroll is on the latest release and updated tax table. This way your account will be updated with the latest features and fixes.
Let me include these resources where you can get additional details about filing forms in QuickBooks:
Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other concerns. I’ll be right here ready to help you. Have a good one.
What is the status of the State Withholding forms for Colorado, today is January 6 and they are due within 7 days? Plus, all the other previous months for the State Withholding forms are not valid. The W-2's are having issue, which need to be reviewed and then sent.
Is this due to the update that QB recently applied?
Hi there, @PTT2.
I can see that you're still not able to see the Payroll forms. I'd like to know if you've already updated the QuickBooks Desktop Payroll and the tax table as mentioned by my colleague? If yes, I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Care Team. They have the tools to verify your account and help you get to the bottom of this. Here's how:
I've added this article to know more details about the Colorado State payroll regulations: Colorado Payroll Tax Compliance.
Please feel free to tag my name in the comment section if you need further assistance or other questions. I'll be around to back you up. Take care.
The Colorado form DR-1094 for a monthly filer is only pulling data from the last week of the month rather than the entire month on QuickBooks desktop.
The same this is happening for us. DR1094 is only reporting the last amount for the last week of the December.
Hi,
I am having the same issue. I had to over ride the form to input the correct numbers, but when you go to print, it prints with "do not file" across the whole form. I finally went online to print the form from the state's website and filled it out by hand. I was told the W2's should print correctly however, and the state form 1094 is the only thing not correct at this time. It was an ordeal to figure out what happened to my 1099 summary list for my 1099's as when I ran it, it was all blank or not categorized. I had to run the 1099 wizard to click on the appropriate categorization of the 1099's and then back out. This seemed to fix at least that problem.
Thanks for coming in today, @DR74 and jpcc.
I have some information about Form DR-1094. You'll want to update your payroll tax table and your QuickBooks to its latest release. These processes fix and sync updates of the program. Let me walk you through how.
To get the latest payroll tax table:
To update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release:
Once the download finishes, please restart QuickBooks. When prompted, accept the option to install the new release. After installing the new release, pull up the form again.
If you're still unable to process the form, please give our Payroll Support Team a call so we can further investigate and assist you further.
Additionally, here's a link that covers all tasks you can do when using the payroll feature.
Let me know if you still have questions or concerns with payroll. I'm always here to help. Take care and have a great weekend ahead.
I have already done all that.. like 3 times in the last 2 days with quickbooks support on the line and 5 hours of my time. Fact is the form is not updated. Quickbooks new about the new 1099 NEC update since Feb 2020 and why they chose mid December, right before everyone's taxes are due, to do a major update and not allow enough time to fix the problems is beyond me. I'll look for an update to fix this problem asap. Please inform everyone when there is one.
We are having the same problem. Have tried to generate a Form 1094 using December only or the 4th Quarter and it is not pulling the correct numbers for either reports. Watch your form when you do create the Form 1094 and make sure it matches the payroll. Intuit, when will this be fixed?
Thank You Colo CPA. I am having the same problem. For Quarterly paying clients the program is only pulling in the December amounts. Yikes! Cmon intuit
I can imagine the agony you've been through when pulling up 1094 in QuickBooks, @kdog77.
I'm here to make it up to you by making sure you'll get back up again.
Based on your scenario, I can see that you've already performed the steps suggested in the previous replies. Since you're still unable to generate the correct amounts in the form, I'd recommend reaching out to our support team.
I'd love to take care of this myself. However, we're unable to do so since this is a public forum. One of our agents can check your account in a secure environment and dig deeper into what's causing this.
Also, please check our support hours to ensure your concern gets addressed timely.
Here's how to contact our support:
After fixing the said issue, you're now ready to file your 1094 form as you usually do.
Also, you can access and print your tax forms so you can use them later if you need one.
I've got your back if you have more payroll or tax concerns in QuickBooks. Just add your comment below and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Colorado Accountant edition users:
When the payroll update came in in December it obviously caused some issues. I see lots of chatter about that. The “do not file status” This was indeed fixed with the latest update. However at the same time the watermarks appeared our DR 1094 stopped calculating the withholding correctly. We have to overwrite every amount. In 20 years I have never had this happen. Anyone else having this issue?
Hi there, Nancy411.
For now, we didn't receive any reports from other users that the DR 1094 stopped calculating the withholding correctly. I suggest running the Payroll Summary report to compare the withholding with the DR 1094 and see if they match.
Here's how:
Once you've confirmed that the data is not matched, I recommend updating your payroll tax table and your QuickBooks to its latest release again. These processes fix and sync updates of the program. You can follow the steps provided above by my colleague ShiellaGraceA to see the process.
If the issue continues to occur, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support Team. They have the tools to pull up your account to further investigate the cause of why DR 1094 stopped calculating the withholding correctly.

Colorado 1094 form is still providing incorrect total.
Quickboooks is updated to the most recent update.
Contacted Quickbooks, problem sent to level two support. Level two support did not call at the time they said they would. Quickbooks did not follow through on an email with a ticket number even though the operator verified email and phone twice.
