Hello
In the midst of this crisis Quickbooks should make direct deposit free for everyone. I use quickbooks desktop enhanced payroll for Accountants. If no direct deposit fee is charged, we can sign up most employees for DD thus avoiding printing & mailing of checks. Employees can get paid faster & there will be lesser burden on everyone including the mail services. Please take this into consideration. I am requesting it be made free only temporarily. Thank you!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your insight with the Community.
I can certainly see how the recent evolving COVID-19 situation has put a strain on businesses in our country. During these unprecedented times, please know we're doing all we can to help out valued QuickBooks customers, like yourself.
I'll do my part and pass your feedback along to the Product Development Team to let them know it would be beneficial to temporarily freeze payroll fees. Many of the changes you see in QuickBooks, even during challenging and uncertain conditions, come directly from these types of suggestions. Did the request for direct deposit fees get resolved? I am a small business that shut down due to Covid and am now just getting back up and running. I guess I didn't notice before when my business was prosperous, but to see a significant payroll/direct deposit fee every week when I do payroll is alarming and makes me want to stop using QB for payroll! I'd like to see some support for small businesses here!
Thank you for taking the time to post today, LaMez2020.

Regarding the direct deposit fee, we do not have any changes to it. If implement changes or updates, we will usually email our clients or post them on the QuickBooks Blog page.
Please don't hesitate to go back to this thread if you have other questions in mind.
I am starting the direct deposit for my employees this next week. Is there a charge?
In some places it says it is not and in other places it says it is so which is it?
Thank you
Jill Taylor
Intuit will charge you a fee for using direct deposit for employees, @JT34.
I appreciate your time checking this with us today. I want to make sure you get the answers you need about Direct Deposit (DD) fee.
QuickBooks Payroll Pricing is subscription-based, including a monthly fee plus an additional per-employee monthly cost. However, the DD fee isn’t included. You'll only get billed the moment you process a direct deposit in QuickBooks.
If you have the QuickBooks Enhanced Payroll not exceed 3 employees and unlimited, you won't be charged for direct deposit. Otherwise, you'll be getting a $2 fee for every transaction processed.
For the new online payroll service, each employee gets $[4/8/10] per month with no additional fees for direct deposit.
It would be best to consult our Payroll Support Team to know more about the payroll fees. They can access your account information and can provide you in-depth details about the billing. Depends on your QuickBooks version, please select the link to contact them:
You can also check these resources to learn more about setting up payroll for direct deposit and its pricing details.
