There are two ways of entering after the fact payroll. You've got me here share some insights on how can this be done.
This can be done via write up, wherein transactions can be entered in the transaction data entry screen. This can also be processed by batch payroll.
In doing the process, I'd suggest reaching out to our Customer Care Team. They can initiate a remote-viewing session and guide you through the steps.
Additionally, I've added here some resources that you can check out about entering historical payroll for your future reference:

Prior to my last payroll update. Entering after the payroll checks was very easy, what happened to that feature in the latest payroll update?
Hi DemJes,
I'd like to ask for more details about your challenges when entering after-the-fact checks. I would appreciate if you can describe them in detail. You may state a comparison between the functions or processes before and after the update.
Thanks in advance.
I am having the same problem. Before update there was a choice of After the Fact Payroll. Since update it is not there. Now what do I do?
I've got your back on entering After the Fact Payroll in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @bds2344.
Since the option was missing after doing the payroll update, I suggest updating the payment method, billing details, and other information from the Account Maintenance as well. Here's how:
After updating the Account Maintenance, download the latest payroll update again.
If the After The Fact Payroll option is still missing after updating, I recommend contacting ProAdvisor Technical Support. You can call the phone number stated in this article to reach them: How to fix the After The Fact payroll option.
Please feel free to leave a comment below if you need further assistance with this. I'll be around to help. Have a great day.
Most of the links in this post are no longer valid and the available information doesn't provide the needed answer(s). This post is no longer helpful! Where can I find support for correcting a payroll after-the-fact?
Thanks for joining the conversation, @Zaleenus.
I'd be glad to share with you steps on how to correct your after-the-fact paychecks in QuickBooks.
Before proceeding, may I know exactly what payroll subscription and product you're using right now?
If you're using the Enhanced Payroll for Accountants subscription before when entering these data, you can still correct them in the Employee's Transactions menu. Let me show you how:
If you're using the online version, I'd suggest contacting our Payroll Support Team. This way, they can make necessary adjustments to your payroll history.
Moreover, you can use several payroll reports to view useful business and employee information in QuickBooks. To know more about these reports and how to access them, check out this resource: Run payroll reports in QuickBooks.
If you have additional questions or concerns about correcting a payroll after the fact, simply add them here. We'll be glad to help you with your task. Have a good one.
I have the same problem. I had to change payroll service keys because of changes QB made to how they structure their payroll subscription. There used to be a menu item on the Employees menu for after-the-fact payroll. Now it's gone. It made entering after-the-fact payroll faster than doing paychecks. Is there some other way to enter after-the-fact payroll, or are we stuck doing regular paychecks, which take longer to do?
Navigating payroll in QuickBooks Desktop can sometimes be challenging, particularly for businesses that need to enter after-the-fact payroll entries, CBuechner. I will explain how to effectively manage it using the current functions available in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
QuickBooks has significantly changed its payroll service offerings, which may have removed the straightforward menu option for after-the-fact payroll. This feature is available with QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll for Accountants.
We can verify your account to check if you're using QBDT Enhanced Payroll for Accountants. Go to the Payroll menu and click the Manage service key. I've added a screenshot for your reference.
Once verified, download the latest tax payroll table. This will keep you updated with payroll changes and ensure you have the necessary options available.
However, if you have a different plan, you can still record after-the-fact payroll by creating Unscheduled Paychecks. This feature allows you to enter paychecks for employees retroactively, which works similarly to the previous After-the-Fact Payroll function.
Here's how:
For further guidance regarding the creation of unscheduled paychecks, we’ve got just the resource for you. You can refer to this article: Create an Unscheduled Payroll Check.
Once you’ve entered your after-the-fact payroll data, utilize the Payroll Summary and Payroll Detail Report to ensure everything has been recorded accurately.
