I haven't ever needed to try this but this is the intuit support document regarding the error you are receiving.

It's nice to have you here in the Community, @rich7.

I'd be glad to help fix the error you're getting while working with QuickBooks Desktop.

Error PS033 happens when there's a damaged file in the CPS folder.

Yes, the article given by @overtaxed72 is correct. To fix the error you may need to download the latest payroll tax table. If downloading the latest tax table doesn't fix the issue, you'll need to rename the QuickBooks CPS folder. You also need to turn off User Account Contron (UAC) and restarting QuickBooks and troubleshoot in a safe mode.

That should fix the error you're getting, however, if the same thing happens after following the steps provided above, I suggest contacting our Support Team to check and investigate this further for you. To contact support:

  1. Go to: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. Choose your QuickBooks Product.
  3. Select your QuickBooks version.
  4. On the Contact Us page, click a topic.
  5. Click on the Get Phone Number button to see the support number.

Please know that I'm always here to help if you have any other QuickBooks and Payroll concerns, it's my pleasure to help you. Have a great day ahead!
