Hi,
I followed the instructions ans changed the settings for the tax deferral
When I go to pay the tax the amount is not deferred and it is part of the payment.
Is there anything else that needs to get done?
Thanks very much for your help!

Good job, for following the steps on how to track deferred Social Security tax payments.
Let's try to uncheck and check the box next to I want to defer my employer portion of Social Security using a private browser. Some function modules may be affected by outdated cache files, which can slow down and affect QuickBooks functionalities.

If it works, then your main browser may have too much historical data from previously visited websites which causes this kind of behavior.
To ensure this doesn't happen again, it's a good idea to clear the cache of the browser you're using. The following article contains additional insight, as well as steps for the supported browsers: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

Thanks for the replay. I will try this.
We are having the same issue. We checked the deferral option and current payroll tax calculations include the employer portion.
Along this same vein, is there a way to correct or adjust unpaid prior tax liabilities to reflect the Employer Social Security deferral?
Thank you.
Hello,
I am having the same issue. Check box is marked, but my liability and filings are still calculating employer's share due. ive done this in chrome, no difference.
Thanks for letting us know and for doing the basic troubleshooting steps, epco.

I had and still have this issue. I called payroll support and was on the phone for an hour. In the end it was suggested that I reach out to a CPA.
I don't understand how that can be the final answer.
Has anyone been able to solve this? PLEASE share if so.
I have tried all other advice from all other posts. Yes, I checked the box in the link and clicked okay. Yes, I tried to open in a new secured window. Yes, I called payroll support. Now What?
Apologies if this is coming off harsh, but I would really like to fix this issue as soon as possible.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
Quickbooks "help desk" is a joke when it cones to anything payroll.
Hello there, ElksPatti.

So, I've called your help desk at least 10 times in the last year (no exaggeration) trying to get help with repaying the deferred employee portion of social security as per the CARES act. Not one person knew what I was even talking about. Quickbooks didn't even come out with the update that included a new payroll item for such a repayment until well after the program had started and had already stopped taking EE portion of social security out of their paychecks. I cannot tell you how frustrating this has been. I have zero trust in the "help desk". Now that I have the total amount to repay SSA there is no way that I can see that this ties back to each employee or for that matter even to pay it through EFTPS.
