Let's add Intuit as a trusted site, greenruninc.

This will prevent the browser in blocking site content. Furthermore, always use a supported and up-to-date browser.

Here's how to add Intuit:

Safari

  1. Open Safari, then enter payroll.intuit.com
  2. Choose Enter.
  3. Select Bookmarks and select Add Bookmark.
  4. From the drop-down, under Add this page to select Top Sites.
  5. Select Add.

Google Chrome

  1. Select the Customize and control Google Chrome  icon and choose Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom and select Advanced.
  3. In the Privacy and security section, select Site Settings.
  4. Select Cookies.
  5. In the Allow section, select Add.
  6. Enter *intuit.com, then select Add to save.

Let me know how it goes, I'll be around if you need more help.

I am having the same issue. Why wouldn't the QB "Browser" be secure to sign into Gmail?
I tried the listed steps with no luck. Need a fix!
We do not have outlook and are not going to get a different e-mail that will work with QB.
Entering in a new "App" password is getting old each time we want to send and e-mail with QB.
I have less secure apps turned on in google this seems to be an issue with the build in QB we browser and Google not supporting it to do the sign in with Google.

I appreciate you for performing the recommended steps provided by my colleague, arbsc.

Any app accessing Google data needs to be reauthorized as part of the updated Google's privacy policy. This means we need to authorize QuickBooks to use Gmail to.

Just follow the steps and details in this article: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/emailing-reports/reauthorize-quickbooks-desktop-to.... Then, go to How to authorize QuickBooks Desktop to use Gmail section.

Then, set up a secure WebMail to provide an easier and safer connection to your email provider.

Here's how:

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Click Edit on the top menu.
  3. Select Preferences.
  4. Tick Send forms.
  5. Tap My Preferences and choose WebMail.
  6. Hit the Add button.
  7. Enter your email address in the Email Id field and select Gmail from the Email Provider drop-down.
  8. Click OK.

Those steps take me right back to the same error message that I was getting before.

The webmail authorization for is "Not Secure" to be able to authorize.
I am also getting two script errors when loading the Login screen for Intuit through QB desktop.

My QB and chrome are updated.

Bellow are the errors I get:

Thanks for the information and screenshots, @arbsc.

You'll need to reconnect your Gmail account to fix the "Couldn't sign you in" error. Let me guide you how.

Solution 1: Use 2-step verification for Google.

  1. Turn on 2-step verification for your Google account.
  2. In QuickBooks, go to EditPreferences, and then Send Forms.
  3. Choose Web Mail and then Add.
  4. Enter Add Email Info and then OK.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.

Solution 2: Turn on less secure app access in Google.

Solution 3: Change the enhanced security setting in QuickBooks.

Please refer to this handy article for the detailed steps of solutions 2 and 3. Here's the link: Gmail couldn’t sign you in from QuickBooks Desktop.

You can also check our page about fixing webmail password issues in QuickBooks Desktop for your reference.

Stay in touch if you have other questions or concerns. I'll be around to help. Have a great week ahead.

Error Code: This browser or app may not be secure. Try using a different browser. If you’re already using a supported browser, you can refresh your .

I should have posted this earlier.

Option 1: My 2-Step Verification is on as I have other programs that require it. There is no way to save the App password within QB. The QB built in web browser is not considered secure with Googles standards.

Option 2: Since I have other programs that use it I really cannot turn it off to "Allow less secure Apps"

Option 3: I would have to write down or remember the App password and use it each time we need to send e-mails with QB.

Is there any work in getting the built in web browser secure per google standards?

Is there any work to allow saving the App password directly in GB Desktop so that we don't need to go through this hassle?

I did do a test with another Gmail account that didn't have 2-step  verification and I turned on less secure apps and I get the same error.

From my understanding and experience QB will only save your password when using the Enhance security which is where we get the error.

I will attempt to contact support again. The chat function was not working earlier.

Hello there, @turfmaster.

Are you having this error when trying to add Intuit as a trusted site in your browser? If so, I'm here to help you fix this.

First, let's check your app preferences. It could be that something may be blocking the connection to your Google account. This can be the reason why you're unable to add Intuit as a trusted site.

Here's how:
  1. Follow the steps to enable access for less secure apps.
  2. You can also set access preferences for specific apps, like QuickBooks.

Once done, you can follow the steps provided by my colleague MaryLurleenM to add intuit as a trusted site again.

If the same error appears, I’d recommend contacting our Technical Support Team. A representative will pull up your account securely and further assist you via a secured remote access session.

You can reach out to them by following these steps:
  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help, then click on Contact Us.
  3. Choose Search for something else.
  4. Type in *intuit.com isn't a valid address and hit Submit.
  5. Click on the Start a Message button.

You can always tag me if you have additional QuickBooks questions. Have a great day!
