How do I print paystubs

There are several paths to get there.  One is File | Print Forms | Pay Stubs.

Printing paystubs in QuickBooks Desktop is easy. And the good thing is, you can also print several of them at once.

Here's how:

1. On your QuickBooks, click the File menu hover over Print Forms. 
2. Select Pay Stubs.
3. Choose your payroll bank account. Then enter the date range that includes the pay date of the pay stubs.
4. In the column next to the date, select the pay stubs you want to print. If you want to filter for specific employees, select them from the Employee drop-down.
5. You have the option to select the company and employee info that will be printed on the pay stub by clicking Preferences.
6. If you want to include a message to send with each pay stub, enter text in the Company message to be printed on all pay stubs box.
7. Select Preview to view pay stubs before you print them. When you're ready, select Print.

If you only need to print one paystub, you can directly open the paycheck and print it from there.

I am looking at my Quickbooks home page and I see no menu item labeled "file." Along the left side of my page I have Banking, Invoicing, Expenses, Cash Flow, Payroll, Reports, Taxes, Mileage, Accounting, My Accountant, Capital, Apps, Insurance and Live Bookkeeping. No File. So, the instructions for printing paystubs are useless.

The steps provided by my colleague are for the QuickBooks Desktop version. It seems like you are using QuickBooks Online (QBO) version. To print the pay stubs in QBO, just follow the steps below: 

1. Go to the Payroll menu,.
2. Select Employees.
3. Choose Paycheck list.
4. Tap the paychecks you'd like to print, then press Print.

If you haven't already, make sure you're set up to print plain paper stubs. Here's how: 

1. Go to the Gear icon on the top menu. 
2. Select Payroll Settings.
3. In the Preferences section, press Paycheck Printing.
4. Choose Plain paper stubs, then press OK.
