Hi. HELP HELP HELP. I’m having the same issue. I have tried the compatibility option, but I now get a message saying I need to turn IE 8 on which I can’t as I’m running IE 11. I see another user managed to fix this problem.

Hello, @Markymark1.
Let me share some information so you'd be able to seamlessly install and use QuickBooks in your device.
Just to clarify, what specific version of QuickBooks are you using? With the release of windows 10 operating system comes the release of the new version of Internet Explorer. If you're using QuickBooks 2010 version, this specific version is no longer a supported one. You can read refer to these articles to learn more about the specific system requirements of each supported QuickBooks versions:
However, if you're using a QuickBooks Supported version let's make sure QuickBooks software is updated to the latest version so you have the latest features and fixes. This also helps the system recognize the transactions you've downloaded.
Here's how:
Once completed, make sure to restart QuickBooks to have the option to install the newly-downloaded release or patch.
Now, let's set you're Internet Explorer as your default browser. You can follow these steps:

Hi,
I believe it is an unsupported version. I am using QuickBooks 2010 simple edition. I have been using this for many years on my windows 7 machine with no faults. I recently upgraded my machine to windows 10 and wanted to swap everything over to this machine. I am a really small business and can’t afford the monthly or yearly subscriptions QB charge. I saw another user had the same problem which they seem to have fixed with your help. That’s why I was asking. Can you help please.
many Thanks,
Mark
You may have 3 options:
1. Try reinstall QBD 2010 on compatibility mode Win 7
2. If you are using Win 10 Pro (not Win 10 Home), utilize Hyper-V to install Win 7 and QBD 2010
3. Upgrade to QBD 2021. You may purchase a one time license of QBD 2021 Pro 1 user as worth < $299
Thanks. I tried option 1 to no avail. I don’t really want to downgrade from windows 10. Where do I find QB 2021 with no subscription ? I can only find ones with 1 year subscription for 299. Thanks.

I didn't ask to downgrade your OS. As I mentioned earlier, you may create a virtual environment on your Win 10 Pro to run a Win 7 system.
We noticed a few QuickBooks partners/resellers offer a one time license of QBD 2021 edition with discounted price. e.g Pro 1 user (not Pro Plus 1 user) worth $299 and Premier 1 user (not Premier Plus 1 user) worth $499. If you couldn't find any of it, send your business email address in a private message to us.
Thanks very much for your assistance. I did manage to install windows 7 as a virtual machine and I did get QB 2010 installed and working but the setup isn’t really working for me. Would you be kind enough to send me the link for the 1 user QB. I’ll PM you a message with my email address.
Thanks again,
Mark
I want to install 2010 QB on my laptop that was comprised. On fixed income and used all my money helping family due to China virus. can you help. have on money to buy programs.
Your genuine compassion and selfless care to those in need is admirable, @Anthony141,
Allow me to share some insights on how you can install your QuickBooks 2010 on your laptop. As long as you have the installation numbers (license and product keys) or the disc, you should be able to download the program.
Please note that the laptop should meet the system requirements for QuickBooks 2010. Otherwise, it may cause compatibility issues and result to the program not working. Older versions do not have the same requirements for the newer editions of the program.
To start the installation, follow the steps below:
For the step by step process on how to install QB 2010, please refer to this file: Installation and Setup Guide for QuickBooks 2010
If you have a local IT in your company, you may ask him for additional help by referring to the linked instructions.
As always, you can mention me anytime if you need anything. I want to make sure your software is installed properly. Have a nice day!
OK, similar question, but with a curve. I have a desktop running Windows 7 Pro. I'm trying to install my old version of QB 10Pro. It won't execute because the message says a third-party support program isn't working. The third-party program, my guess, is Flash Player 10, which Adobe disengaged on January 21, 2021, as an EOL program. How do I get your QB10 Pro to install on my Windows 7 if the third-party (Adobe) won't let me install Flash Player 10?
Thanks for joining the thread and providing detailed information about your concern, @5280DEN.
Right now, QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) no longer supports Windows 7. Thus, we recommend upgrading to Windows 10. However, you can still use the older versions of QBDT but upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 helps to protect your QuickBooks data, including your customers' and employees' sensitive information.
In case you'd want to upgrade the operating system, I recommend doing a back up of your company files using an external drive or a backup service such as Intuit Data Protect.
To learn about the minimum system requirements for QBDT, see this article: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2021.
If you have further questions, please let me know in the comment section. I'll be happy to answer it for you. Have a good day.
Try to download and install the latest version of Flash Player for Win 7 prior to installing QBD 2010. I am not sure installing any outdated QBD on compatibility mode Win 7 will work any longer.
well you can also forward using the Windows guide on Techy Jungle to get updated.
