Hello,
I've searched high and far to a solution, but it doesn't seem to be on my end? Please confirm for me.
I have a new local workstation that will be used for RDP as they need an additional computer with quickbooks on it. The client currently has QB Enterprise 2015 hosted from their server. This shouldn't be anything hard, I just want to install 2015 enterprise quickbooks on a new workstation.
However, I got the file from the site, after I put in activation I get the error: Sorry, we need to verify your subscription before installing Quickbooks, but we can't connect to our servers. Please try installing again later.
Now obviously, the workstation is connected to the internet, as I remoted into it. Additionally I searched up solutions and tried all the suggested "disable firewall," "reset internet explorer settings," "Run the quickbooks tool hub installation helper." All which have resulted in zero results.
Of course then I thought perhaps it was the machine, so I downloaded the file again from your site and tried on my work laptop just to see if I could get it to work, but of course I get the same result. Even tried compatibility changes.
Can someone please direct me to an actual solution, or perhaps confirmation that their verification/validation server is down for qb enterprise 2015? I don't want to hear an upgrade, we just need to get it working on another local workstation so that the client can continue to work from home.
I appreciate any information you might be able to provide.

We are not allowed to install or reinstall any outdated QB Desktop Enterprise any longer. System will decline any activation request by default. Consider upgrading to QBD Enterprise 2020 or downgrading to Premier with a one time license instead.
Running into this issue. The only thing I can think of is it's an issue with the certificate as it doesn't exist anymore. Digicert bought Symantec. I need this to work. Setting up a new server for a CPA who will need access to the last 10 years of QB versions...
You may try to contact Support and ask for the activation code. Otherwise, consider to upgrade or downgrade your version.
So after digging around some this is the error that we're getting.

I am having the same issue & your chat support was of ZERO help.
This is incredibly frustrating - please provide a fix or work around ASAP!
Having the same issue & this is incredibly frustrating - your chat support offered ZERO assistance or advice other than to buy new software. That is unacceptable & we need a work around or fix for this. 2015 Enterprise needs to be able to be installed in our environment.
Still need a work around for this & chat says they cannot assist
I spent an hour on the phone with support and it was "escalated to backend technicians". I however doubt that they will actually call me back with a fix.
Also having the same issue with 2016 and 2017.
I am not surprised Intuit won't help for any request to activate QBD Enterprise 2017 or older. You may keep using it for good but you are not allowed to reinstall it.
Came across this thread today while I was trying to install QBE 2015 on my laptop. I'm tired of remoting into my office to do my billing while working at home during Covid. Business is way down during the pandemic and the only upgrade options are the monthly subscriptions. Retirement is getting closer and having to pay monthly to maintain access is not an option. This issue is a giant black-eye on a company that I used to trust.
Today for the first time I was unable to recover my password due to a persistent software crash. It would appear that Intuit is sticking a wrench is my software from multiple angles to get me to upgrade. That will not happen under any circumstances.
1. Break payroll
2. Break downloads from your bank
3. Break re-installation
4. Break password recovery
You may purchase a 3rd party password removal service as the workaround.
Any specific concern?
Ryan, can you determine what site the newer versions try to send you to.
So, here goes. According to Ryan here, the actual 2015 installation verification error that occurs is:
"The remote name could not be resolved: 'ratable.qbdt.intuit.com'
If anyone can determine what "remote name" the newer versions like 2020 and up connect to, I think I may be able to provide an actual workaround.
This might be a little late to help you, but hopefully, it will help someone else.
I finally found a way to get Enterprise 2015 installed.
Step 1: Install with the database-only option, this will specifically not that it does not require a license.
Step 2: Download and install the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
Step 3: In the Tool Hub; find Installation Issues and run the 3371 Error Fix
Step 4: Re-run the installation with the option that was not working for you before.
Install Quickbooks 15.0 Enterprise ( YOU NEED A COPY WORKING ALREADY ON ANOTHER COMPUTER)

3. Navigate to C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\intuit\QuickBooksEnterprise…\Components\PCConfig
4. Run QuickBooks.msi
5. Locate entitlement client license folder on old computer
5a. Copy this from a working computer that has QuickBooks 15 running on it.
5b. The file path is C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v8 or v6
6. Drag this from the working computer into the computer you want to install QuickBooks on. Make sure the paths are correct!
7. After you have copied the Entitlement folder over from the old computer open Control Panel > Uninstall a Program > QuickBook Enterprise Solution 15.0
7a. Right click on QuickBooks Enterprise and click on *Uninstall/Repair
8. Run the Repair tool and complete repair with your License and Product #.
