Quickbooks Install: Error: Sorry looks like you need a subscription, call this number

Hello,

I am currently getting this message when attempting to install quickbooks enterprise accountant 17.0.

"Sorry, it looks like you need a subscription to start using QuickBooks" and to call Quickbooks to set it up. I'm not sure why we are getting this now

I am getting the licensing information by having the Accountant log into the license portal to view licenses and products. We are downloading the installer directly from the product license info window and have tried multiple different licences (We have 7-10 licenses total for this version) and all have this error. I have also tried installing on another laptop as well with the same result.

Also tried the, Quickbooks Tool Box diagnostics but didn't find anything. I have found support questions on this in the past but the resolution is not posted, it looks like it involved sending the license info.

I found another post on this but there was no actual resolution to the issue:

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/install/quickbooks-installation-fails-with-subscri...

We are using Windows 10 Pro 1909 64-bit systems.

We are not allowed to reinstall QuickBooks Enterprise 2017 or older any longer. It seems they forced the same policy to Enterprise Accountant as well. Consider downgrading your version to QBD Premier Accountant. Otherwise, you have to upgrade to QBES Accountant 2020.

Yes, you need to purchase again when you upgrade to the latest version, PromaD.

You'll get a new product and license numbers. Then, use them when you install the upgraded version.

You can purchase and subscribe to QuickBooks. That way, you won't have to get another product and license number every time you upgrade.

Check out this link to learn how to subscribe: Manage your QuickBooks Desktop subscriptions and services. It includes a video tutorial and detailed steps.

If you need to purchase a new version, you can prepare the following requirements.

  1. Make sure your computer meets the system requirements.
  2. If you haven’t already, download your version of QuickBooks Desktop. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it.
  3. Have your product and license number handy.

After you install it, QuickBooks will ask you to activate and update it. If you need help, here's how to activate QuickBooks Desktop.

Let me know if you have additional questions about upgrading QuickBooks. I'm always right here to help you.

@PromaD

QBD 2017 Enterprise is outdated and you won't be able to activate again. Consider upgrading to QBD 2022 Enterprise with the subscription license or cross-grade to QBD 2020 or 2021. You can still purchase a one time license of it. Contact us in private for assistance.
