thanks, but when I follow your link to "Update Qucikbooks to the latest release" I choose my version which is 2016 and I get the following "Sorry, the page you're looking for doesn't exist."
Hi davis-LAI5925,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I'm here to assist you with updating the Database Server Manager for QuickBooks Desktop.
Since you mentioned you're not on the server, I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the QuickBooks Database Server Manager. By doing so, it'll help ensure the app connects to your company file for sharing purposes to other users.
You'll see the detailed instructions on this from the article I'm attaching below (scroll down to If you're trying to update QuickBooks Database Server Manager on the server computer):

thanks for all your help...but maybe I am not communicating this correctly. The database and server manager are installed on a MS Server 2012 R2 machine. This server does not have the QB 2016 client installed. Just the database server & hosted database. I have updated all the desktop client machines to the latest available version of QB Desktop. Now I want to make sure the database server manager software is also up to date. When I attempt to update this software (database server manager) there is no update available (page not found) for my version of QB 2016. All I want to do at this point is to update the server software to the latest version.
regards
Scott D
Hi Scott D,
You can get the latest updates of your Database Server Manager (DBSM) from the website.
After the download completes, run the patch in your server.
We can go back to your QuickBooks Database Server Manager to verify if you're already running the latest release (R17).
Let me know if you need anything else.
thanks I will give this a try.
