How to get QB to stop asking me to log into my Intuit Account

Boy do I ever agree with you.  Intuit has done everything possible over the years to make an annoyance out of themselves.  I talk clients out of using their products everyday and if I could find another software to handle my client records I would do so in a heartbeats.  I have been using and hating this software for more than 20 years.  They are invasive and annoying and only do half of this crap in order to be able to control their users and market to them at higher and higher annual fees.  There are no laws or statutes that require this control and I dare them to share the laws as they are written.

This solution worked for me, but first I had to click on the "I need more time" and choose a timeframe because the Intuit login screen freezes everything else until you do that. That might seem obvious to some, but I was soooo frustrated by the login screen freezing me out of QB that I wasn't thinking straight at first. Just thought I'd add that in case anyone else has this issue.

How to get QB to stop asking me to log into my Intuit Account

Hey Quickbooks Team, after reading all the posts from the beginning of this thread, you clearly either refuse to, or are unable to comprehend our complaint.

Please stop providing useless fixes until you truly understand the real issue.

At this point you have made all the annoyed QB users in this thread think that you are either clueless, or an apathetic QB Team working for a controlling company.

I have been a loyal user since the 90s. I can't wait until a good alternative product comes out. It's just a matter of time, you know.

How to get QB to stop asking me to log into my Intuit Account

I too am a user of Quickbooks Pro since the 1990's and am VERY annoyed by this demand to log in to Intuit to be able to use our stand alone desktop product.

I am based in Europe, and wonder if this is legal under the EU GDPR regulations. What info are you collecting Intuit? Why? And how can I be removed from your tracking.

You can be liable to big EU fines (4% of your turnover!) if you are proved to be acting illegally.

Please be transparant.

In the meantime, I successfully avoided, for now, by alt+F4 then cancel.

Did that work?  Removing QBCF MonitorService?

How to get QB to stop asking me to log into my Intuit Account

Hello, Michael Viser.

I have a brief overview on what happens when you remove the monitor service process.

Removing the QBCFMonitorService might cause errors when using QuickBooks Desktop. It's an important component needed to ensure the company files are safe.

You can set QuickBooks to remind you after seven days. Alternatively, you can follow the solution posted by one of the users, almon. Click here to go to their reply.

In addition to what my colleague, Rasa-LilaM, added, we're constantly working to ensure your data is safe. Although, I can see that this feature isn't applicable for all users. Our developers might change the way this is handled in the future. They might also add more options regarding the reminders when the pop-up to log in opens.

If you have the time, you can tune in to our product updates here. Narrow down your content search by selecting the tags related to QuickBooks Desktop.

Check out our QuickBooks Desktop articles if you need help navigating around the program. They can also guide you in managing your income, expenses, vendors and customers. Click here to go to the articles page (more topics at the bottom).

If you have any other concerns regarding QuickBooks Desktop, please post them here. I'm willing to listen and address them for you.

Hi @jamespaul,

A hopeful question re: your post:  what is your position in the company?  Do you have any clout to get this issue resolved?  Your comments (Although, I can see that this feature isn't applicable for all users. Our developers might change the way this is handled in the future. They might also add more options regarding the reminders when the pop-up to log in opens.) - is this just wishful thinking or are people who can make things happen at Intuit looking at this and realizing that - gosh, this doesn't apply to a whole bunch of customers who are getting more unhappy each day that they have to deal with this!?!   We need to fix this and there are ways to do it.  We need to make it high priority and get it done soon.  JP, I'm hopeful that you can see this through.  Do you have the ability to carry this forward?  Or do you just wish these things would happen and you have no way to really move the needle?

Best,

ITGuy1

How to get QB to stop asking me to log into my Intuit Account

This box is making me CRAZY!!!!!!! Mine says that I AM logged in, but the "Continue" box is not lit so I can not do anything except continue to ControlAltDelete until it decides to let me use my account. This is not the first time I have requested this be fixed. It was fixed until I allowed your recent update but is not doing it again. No business person has time for this...… repeatedly!!!!! Please fix ASAP. Yes, I am an angry customer.

Thanks for posting to the Community, @Kalger.

To stop the prompt, you can press the Alt-F4 key combination and then click the Cancel button.

Right now, this is the safest way to remove the window when using QuickBooks Desktop and keep it secured as the technology advances. Also, I'd encourage you to visit our Firm of the Future page to check some updates in QuickBooks such as news, feature release, and product enhancements.

To get more articles and video tutorials about managing things like expenses and income record-keeping and navigation in QuickBooks Desktop, you can visit our Help page to search and learn more.

Let me know if there's anything you need assistance with QuickBooks. I'll get back to you as fast as I can. Stay safe and well!

This requirement is not going to work, please reconsider this position, quickbooks.  One reason I use quickbooks desktop is the ability to work regardless of internet connectivity.  Please do not tie this together.

I know how you want this prompt to be removed when logging in to other Intuit products, and I'm here to help you, friesen.

This prompt is a new update way back in March 2020. The reason for this is to strengthen security and license processes. You can choose the Remind option if you don't want to log in to your account.

You can also press Alt+F4 and click Cancel to stop the prompt.

Please check out these helpful articles if you have any other questions about QuickBooks Desktop. You can also check these release update notes for your reference:

Feel free to let us know if there's anything else that you want us to with. I'll always be around if you need help.

Never answered the question you had about the username box blocking is trying to enter our current username and pw. So far, I cannot get past that.

@IRSSAP wrote:

You are so right about the waste of time.  What security is Intuit protecting?  I use a laptop, no network, and no apps but I still need to sign  into an Intuit account that basically asks me the question, why did you sign on, you don't use any of these apps.

You did NOT answer the question! I, like the original poster, do NOT want my desktop version of QB connecting to Intuit online, sharing info with Intuit, etc.! Now, I can't login to my DESKTOP verison of QB until I connect to Intuit Online? This is garbage! GIVE US AN OPT OUT!

Attention all intuit programmers and technical support. You are all a part of deploying and enforcing communist and fascist policy's. You are a part of a movement to control the activities of private citizens of the world that use QuickBooks desktop for their bookkeeping and accounting in the privacy of their homes and businesses. Over the past two decades bookkeeping and accounting worked perfectly fine without requiring password changes every 90 days and online account logins to access local account databases.  The QuickBooks data and the computers are the property of these citizens and these people deserve the choice of password protection or not. They deserve the right to access their data without having an online QB account. This most recent requirement it just wrong and should be a part of an anti-trust law suit and a violation of privacy laws.

None of the responses in this thread are a solution to your communist fascist dictator policies. None of the responses solve the issue and reminding people every 7 days that intuit is a communist fascist dictator company is not helping the matter. Your customer service is horrible, the QuickBooks software have become horrible and your company policies are horrible and you are ruining the software, and pissing off your customers. Its blatantly obvious that not one person over there at intuit cares. The only option is to protest and find another solution for bookkeeping. At some point, just like Hitler and Mussolini you will be taken out of power.

The hate is growing for intuit and its just a matter of time before your over thrown.

This is fine... until TAX TIME and I need TURBO TAX or some other software to access my company file!!!

Why not stop with these garbage answers meant to placate the masses and JUST STOP THE REQUIREMENT THAT DESKTOP USERS MUST CONNECT TO INTUIT ONLINE!!!! There is NOTHING online we use from you!

They still haven't dealt with this issue!!! I can't even get in QB because this same intuit screen pops up and blocks everything and no way to clear the login box AND continue button never comes up. I tried their "fix" with resetting to default settings on browser and that was also a waste of time. How are any of you users getting past this??? They told me they are "aware" of the bug and their engineers are "diligently" working on a solution. If I worked at their speed, I would already be fired!!!!!

Now I cannot get past this pop up. I have changed my password multiple times and still the screen is locked.

When I called tech support he wanted to remote to my desktop. I have had terrible experiences with such an approach. How do I fix this without my computer being invaded?
