Intuit Data Protect

I appreciate your diligence in ensuring the safety of your important data, Dan. Let me further share with you some information about Intuit Data Protect and its ability to back up your attachments folder.

Yes, Intuit Data Protect does back up your attachments along with your QuickBooks files. However, whether your attachment folder is backed up depends on how you set up your Intuit Data Protect.

If you’re unsure whether your attachments folder is included in the backup, you can check your backup settings to see if you added the folder for backup. Here’s how you can do that:

  1. Open Intuit Data Protect.
  2. Select Change backup settings.
  3. On the Select QuickBooks Data window, view the files and folders to see if your attachments folder is included.
  4.  For Entire PC Users, after choosing Continue, verify whether your attachments folder is included in the backup.

If you find that your attachments folder is not included, you can easily add it from your backup set.

Thanks for sharing your concerns, @ButchieOil.

It sounds like you may be logged into the wrong Intuit Data Protect account. It's not uncommon to see users use the wrong Intuit account sign-in and not see their current backups.

Often times customers will have multiple users in the Company file. Most of those users have Intuit accounts. With that said, you'll want to ensure that you're using the same Intuit account that was used for the IDP setup.

I recommend contacting our support team again and ensuring you're using the correct sign-in information. If you are and our team can see your back up as you mentioned, this issue may need to be escalated.

You can use the link I'm including below to connect with our team directly:

Intuit Data Protect

I have on the with them for over a week multiple different reps. Screen sharing one rep had me to a backup to a file that had nothing and it still did not show he had to contact someone to have them release it but was supposed to have all the files released but they only did the one with nothing. We have gone thru any and all IDS and it’s an Intuit issue that won’t allow them

I appreciate the efforts you've put into restoring the  Intuit Data Protect backup, ButchieOil. Let me provide additional troubleshooting steps to help fix this.

To start, you can utilize QuickBooks File Doctor, a tool designed to repair damaged company files and address network issues. Here's how:

  1. Download and install QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Open the tool hub and click on Company File Issues.
  3. Select the Run QuickBooks File Doctor option.
  4. If the QuickBooks File Doctor doesn’t open, locate and open QuickBooks Desktop File Doctor manually.
  5. Choose your company file from the dropdown menu. If your file isn’t visible, click Browse to find it.
  6. Click Check your file (middle option only) and then tap Continue.
  7. Enter your QuickBooks admin password and select Next.

If the problem continues, I recommend contacting our support team again. I can see that you've already gotten in touch with them, but it's the best we can do. They have the tools to access your account securely and investigate further.

Here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Desktop.

Week #3 and still no back up file.  I have done at least 20 screen shares with multiple reps uninstall reinstall...

my issue is that the computer I was working on HAS CRASHED but I am 100% certain that the back up 8/11 was successful and yet it is no where to be found.
