Is it possible to resend a 1099-MISC form to a contractor, and if so - what are the steps to do it?

I sent the 1099 forms on time - however one of my contractors moved and is looking for his form. I need to resend it if possible.

I want to ensure that you can get 1099 additional copies for your consultants, @LM537. Thanks for the quick reply.

I have a way to get previously filled 1099 forms in QuickBooks. And happy to share the steps with you.

I believe you're using our standalone 1099 E-File service to complete the forms as you do not have a payroll subscription. To get another copy, follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to the 1099 E-File Service using your credentials and select Continue
  2. Choose your company and click Continue.
  3. On the homepage, click the View past forms link.
  4. Pick the E-file with the IRS tab, then hit the form you want to get a copy of.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Hi there, @LM537. I'll help you resend your contractor's 1099 form.

You can access previously filed 1099 forms from January 1 through April 30 at any time from your QuickBooks Online account.

Here's how:

  1. Go to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Go to Payroll tax, then 1099 filings.
  3. Select View 1099 to view a PDF copy.

For more information about the 1099-MISC and the 1099-NEC, refer to this article: Get answers to your 1099 questions

Additionally, you can access and print your other tax forms to save a copy for future use.

I'm always here if you have more questions about managing your payroll forms in QBDT. I'd be glad to hear more from you in the comment section.

LieraMarie, thank you very much.

We don't do payroll through QB Online. Where can I find Payroll Tax?

I go to Payroll, Contractors, - the only option that I see is Prepare 1099's

I need it for Consultants .
