New Layout reverting back by itself??

I have QB Online and updated to the "new layout" a couple weeks ago.  This past week I tried to generate some invoices and estimates and they were back in the "old layout".  When I clicked on the "upgrade to new layout" button it temporarily converts to the new layout and then immediately reloads to the old one again.  It does this on multiple browsers as well as different computers.  Can someone please point me in the right direction?

New Layout reverting back by itself??

I appreciate you sharing details of your concern and the steps you've performed to help isolate the issue, @Jczepiel.

I know a possible reason why you don't have the option to revert to the new invoice experience in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Allow me to provide a more detailed explanation.

It's possible that you unintentionally switched back to the old invoice layout, which would explain why you no longer have the option to return to the new experience.

According to the latest update, customers who have switched back from the new invoice experience to the old layout will no longer be able to revert to the new layout. The ability to switch between layouts is still being rolled out, so I recommend waiting for the feature to be updated and automatically added to your QuickBooks account.

For the time being, you might consider exploring this website to acquire details regarding our latest improvements and advancements: New features in QuickBooks.

If you need further assistance or have additional invoice queries, please let me know by leaving a comment below. I will make sure to respond and provide you with the necessary help.

New Layout reverting back by itself??

It's not a big deal but I can assure you I didn't switch it back to the old layout.  Also, on a side note - it does still give me the option to switch to the new layout but seems to glitch up when it tries to do so.

New Layout reverting back by itself??

Same thing here!  I've tried it in Safari (private and regualr), cleared out my history/chache and did al the same steps using Google Chrome.  Nothing has worked.

New Layout reverting back by itself??

Yup.  They relaunched the new layout for me last week and it’s doing exactly the same thing. Tried different browsers as well as completely different computers.

Same issue - they said they would reach out but have not heard back. Very expensive bug.

New Layout reverting back by itself??

It is now April 2024 and this problem still exists. Six months not fixed. I am a QB Pro Advisor and I can't use the new layout. When I try, it shows it briefly and then goes back to the old layout. This is a HUGE problem because I need to get ready for when the old layout is removed in less than a month. There are so many current features missing in the new layout that I have to completely change how I do invoicing.

And while I'm typing this, a big red banner appears that says "ticket mismatch." What's going on over at Intuit?

This issue is specific to the company. Not the user. Not the web browser. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work for all users in the company for any browser they use. I have access to multiple companies and it is only my company, not my clients', which has the issue.

New Layout reverting back by itself??

We appreciate your understanding, @bulogyx

While we are always looking for ways to improve, we want you to know that we do not anticipate a change to this product behavior in the immediate future.

Currently, the option to stay on the new experience layout is not available. The new Invoicing Experience has a variety of improved features. Some of these features are not yet available, thus preventing you from transitioning to the new experience. You can see an updated list of these limitations here: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.

In the mean time, I encourage you to share your concerns or ideas via the in-product Feedback tool.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help option.
  2. Choose the Send Feedback Online option.
  3. Select the Product Suggestion option. A pop-up window displays.
  4. Enter your feedback suggestion.
  5. Click the Send Feedback button.

Yikes. Quickbooks Team - it's embarrassing that you havent fixed this issue yet. Widely reported as an issue for more than six months at this point and you've yet to fix it. This is a product you are claiming will automatically be applied to accounts in two weeks and yet it doesn't work at all as of now?

Get. Your. S**t. Together.

You are a major publicly traded company with thousands of employees. Act like it.

New Layout reverting back by itself??

I have to say, this just seems par for the course. Intuit has always been terrible in so many ways, from the really unhelpful AI responses that they try to fool us with by showing "employee" under the name, to doing roll outs on software that isn't even remotely done.

Seriously can't understand why a company would release something that can't be used.  The culture must be so bad over there they push this garbage out so it looks like they are doing something so they don't get fired, when in reality, this is the reason people should be fired!

So crazy and so frustrating! Don't even get me started on the credit card process for in person! It is literally unimaginably bad, like I don't understand how it got through any kind of low level approval process.  The whole place must be crazy town.

Exact same thing happens to me. I click the "update layout", it changes for a few second and then reverts right back.

New Layout reverting back by itself??

New layout now can not be changed back but it has all kinds of issues. Sales tax can not be removed from a line item. You can not add spacing between lines items. The only way to use the new features to preview email and pdf is using the one modern template but its only good for a single page. If your quote goes ot 2 pages it just cuts it in half no header like the old template. My quotes look like a 5 year old was made them. I seriously just started using a free program to make quotes because Quickbooks is so broken. What a screw up.

Here it is late May and this problem still exists.  I have to say that Intuit is pretty much the worst I've ever dealt with.  The level of incompetence is breathtaking.
