Hi there, userjeremy.
I've checked here on my end and found that there are no reported cases about this error. But I'm here to help you resolve this issue.
Generally, when you encounter unexpected behavior, like runtime errors and unresponsive pages, you can perform some basic browser troubleshooting steps to fix it. There are times that the stored cache and cookies become corrupted preventing you from running your payroll.
You can start by accessing your QuickBooks account in a private/incognito window.
Just press Ctrl + Shift + N for Google Chrome, Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer, or Command + Shift + N for Safari. Once you're in, try running your payroll again. If the error is now gone, you'll have to go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete the junk files.
If the same thing happens, you can switch to other supported browsers. It could be that the one you're currently working on has a temporary issue with QuickBooks Online.
Additionally, I recommend reading this article to help complete year-end tasks and wrap up this year’s payroll: QBO Payroll year-end checklist.

Every browser has this issue, all checklists have been done. I need to call and speak to someone. We are not stupid and this seems to be an issue with the 2020/2021 change. Plenty of people have had the issue because I've read here on the site how there is this specific issue and people haven't been able to get it resolved. I need to speak to a physical person. My employees need their money and your system is broken
This happens regardless of browser and also after clearing all history and cache. I have seen this exact issue posted here by others and you guys seem to be dancing around the issue without solving it. I need to speak to a human being, not a computer screen. My employees depend on their money and your system is broken. What number do I call for US support?
I'd also feel disappointed when something doesn't work the way it's intended to, @userjeremy.
Let me make it up to you by sharing the steps needed to contact our support.
Since the above steps didn't fix the error, contacting our Payroll support team is the best option. They have more tools to check what's causing this issue or even escalate it if needed.
You can use the Help menu option in your QuickBooks account to reach out to our support. This way, one of them will call you.
For the new Help menu interface:
For the old Help menu, you can refer to this article for the steps: Contact QuickBooks Online support. It also includes the support hours when you can connect with them.
Meanwhile, you can run some payroll reports to get a glimpse of your business finances.
You can always get back to me if you need more payroll help. I'm just a comment away to assist you.
