Billing information won't accept my postal code. Why try validating postal codes if you can't keep up to date?

Let me help you sort this out, @userchad.

When updating your billing information, you'd want to make sure to enter the address in QuickBooks is the same as the one on your credit card statement. Also, your billing address should consist of 5 or 9-digit Zipcode that are added to a postal address to assist the sorting of mail.

Here are the things you'd want to consider in entering your billing information:

  • Make sure there are no special characters or symbols (such as @ or *) in your billing address. Special characters will cause errors.
  • Make sure every field on the payment method screen is filled in, including the Postal code. If your address doesn't have a Postal code, enter 00000. You can use this tool to verify your billing address: Look Up a ZIP Code.

You can try accessing your account and update its billing address using a private browser or incognito browser. It is a good place to start troubleshooting this unexpected behavior since it doesn't store any cache. You can use any of these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome, press CTRL  + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL  + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Once logged, here's how to update credit card and subscription billing info:

  1. Go to the Gear icon ⚙.
  2. Choose the Subscriptions and billing menu.
  3. Select the Billing details tab.
  4. Click Edit billing information and update your payment info.
  5. When you're done, select Save.

If you're able to successfully do it, you may want to clear the browsing history of your regular web browser. This will remove previously-stored browsing data that might have caused the issue. Otherwise, you can try using other supported browsers to be thorough.
