Federal Compliance email about payroll account info update

I have received two emails regarding the new Federal Compliance regarding need to update QBDT payroll information to avoid direct deposit being interrupted.  The email states that on the home page or in the payroll center there is a banner to click on to go in and update missing information and if it is not done by July 31, 2021 there will be an interruption in direct deposit use.  I have no such banner showing and after the first email I reached out to customer service and was told if I don't see the banner I should be good.  Then I got a second email this week and reached out to customer support via chat who tells me that they can see the banner.  They advised me to run a payroll update, close the file and reopen.  I did this and still no banner.  They told me then that there is an ongoing issue with the banner not showing inside the payroll center and if I would bear with them they would check on that.  Over an hour later I have not heard back from them.  Has anyone had this issue?  I really don't need my direct deposit shutting down but I cannot do anything if I can't get in to fix it.

Yes, you're right. There is an ongoing issue with the missing banner.

We’ll have to add your company to the list of affected users by getting in touch with our Payroll Support Team. This is to ensure you’ll receive email updates of the investigation. You can provide this number to expedite the process: INV-59171.

 

Within your QuickBooks Company file, select QuickBooks Desktop Help from the Help menu. Alternatively, you can also press F1 on your keyboard to bring up the same Help panel. To route you to the correct support expert, we need to know what type of question you have. Give a brief description of your issue and click Continue.

Another way to contact our support team is by following the steps below.

  1. Go to this link: Contact Us.
  2. Choose your country and QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Enter a short description of your concern.
  4. Click Search.

Thanks, the support person I was on chat with did tell me that my company was added to the list of those needing a fix. They said I would get a direct email when the issue was fixed.  Will direct deposit remain functional until the issue is resolved even if it is after the deadline of 7/31/21?

Yes, we can assure you that you can still use the direct deposit function until the deadline. Our engineers are religiously working to fix the issue with the banner to prevent everyone from having a canceled direct deposit function. It's good to know that you've contacted the support team about this. Let's just wait for updates.

I am having the exact same problem.  There is no banner to click on.  As far as I can tell my info is all there.  I cannot find the banner to view it or edit it. I don't want my direct deposit shut down either.  I'm actually going out of town until the 31st of this month.  I don't know what to do, I can't find what they are talking about. Anybody else having this problem or have you found the banner?

I'm having the same exactly problem, the worse is that the horrible customer services representatives do not have an idea of what's going on, and the worse is after staying on the phone for over an hour they HANG UP the phone on me, TWICE. QuickBooks should be ashamed of this treatment. I don't know what do as the their own representatives do not know. this is ridiculous, stressful, and I wont be suprise that the netsuit and oracle might take over and QuickBooks will be dead one day. we don't even have a number to call. hopeless

Can you please tell me where I can find out more about this federal compliance?  I have done searches for it and I can only find where QB is talking about it.  Before I start putting my SS # in here, I would like more info on where I can read about it from somewhere other than QB's just telling me I have to do it.

I would like to learn more about this Federal Compliance that requires me to put my SS# into QB's when the IRS already has it and it is already associated with our EIN and our bank account in which the direct deposits are coming out of.  I have done searches for this compliance  and have not found it other than QB's telling us to do it.  So please, someone from QB's tell me exactly where to find this at other than you telling me I need to do it so that I can verify myself that this is a legit requirement.  Maybe I am searching for it incorrectly but one would think that it would not be that hard to find.

Updating your business (i.e., Address and Business and Industry type) and Principal Officer (i.e., Name, Social Security number, and date of birth) info in QBDT Payroll is a required process by the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC). It's a requirement by the U.S. Government to help fight the funding of terrorism and money-laundering activities. This guideline requires us to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies the principal officer listed on an account used for electronic services, including direct deposit.

Any updates on the Intuit account should be done by the Primary or Company Admin.
