I do have Desktop 2013 and Desktop 2019 but none of these can restore /use the 2003 file. I tried to find my old versions but I must have gotten rid of them. They probably will not work on Win10 anyway. Any place I can download those older versions?

Your data file version is too old. Consider purchasing a 3rd party service to upgrade it and you will be able to open it on QBD 2019.

How do I send my 2007 Quickbooks file to Intuit so I can open it with QB Pro 2021 desktop?

Upgrading your company file from the 2007 version to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Pro 2021 is a big leap, KurtMueller. And, I'm here to guide you so you can open the file to the latest version.

You would need to go from 2007 to 2010 to 2013 to 2016 to 2019 to 2021, and restore the file in between. Let's make sure your file is free from error. You can run the following steps below.

1. Ensure your anti-virus software is on the latest update.
2. Restore qbdmgr.exe and qbdmgrN.exe from the virus vault or quarantine.
3. Prevent QBDT Directory from being scanned by adding exceptions on your anti-virus software.
4. Repair the QBDT program. 

Once done, download and install QBDT 2021. Then, upgrade your company files after switching to a new version. In case you're getting an error, download and use the QuickBooks Tool Hub to fix problems and errors.

In line with Intuit's discontinuation plan for older products, discontinued products cannot be registered for the first time. You can re-register discontinued products if they have been registered before and are being reinstalled. You may also contact our QuickBooks Desktop Live Team to get the validation code.

Support couldn't help to upgrade your file. You have to utilize the trial license to upgrade your file gradually or purchase a 3rd party upgrade service.

Stumbled upon this thread. Is all the advice in this thread still aplicable today to upgrade from v9 (2009?) to 2020+? 

Stumbled upon this thread as I have a enterprise solutions for retail v9 (is that 2009?) that needs to be updated to the latest.

At present, is all the info on this thread still applicable?

IE...back up company file > upgrade in 3 year intervals and back up in between until reaching 2020+?

Open your company file and press CTRL+1. You will find a description of the product you own. Is it QB Desktop Enterprise 2009?

I was told to not touch the application, but what I can gather so far from "winver" and Control Panel is.

It runs on Server 2008 SP2
Quickbooks programs are

QB Enterprise Solutions: Retail Edition 9.0
QB Point of Sale 9.0

You are using QB Desktop 2019 for Mac, correct? You can secure a backup file to upgrade to a newer version. Consider to buy the new license of QB Desktop 2023 Mac Plus (starts from $550) within next week. Otherwise, you have to buy QB Desktop 2024 Mac Plus with a higher price (starts from $650).

So I can have a desktop version on my new computer and wont have to have an online subscription version?
