The message I get is check email and password. I tried your suggestions to no avail. Is there other things you can think of? your help is appreciated

Can you tell us what domain you're using when sending emails from QuickBooks? Follow the steps in this article depending on the email provider that you're using: Fix Webmail Password Issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

There's a possibility that AOL is updating their server, and you need to update the connection. You can follow these steps:
You can refer to this link to see the Internet Service Provider (ISP) and Port information: Connect your email to QuickBooks Desktop.
Once all is done, you can send a test email. If you're still unable to email, you can consider contacting AOL to check if there's an update from their end.
If there isn't an update, I suggest getting in touch with our QuickBooks Desktop Team so they can check the setup for you.
