Since we're dealing with requesting a refund for your TurboTax account, I recommend contacting their respective support. TurboTax has a separate forum where you can post your concerns and be assisted by their respective support. Moreover, concerns like yours may need to contact them to check on this privately, as they may need you to provide your account information for verification.

Before doing so, did you get an error message when opening your QBO? We just want to make sure we're giving the right steps and information to sort this out. A screenshot of your view will be very much appreciated. 

 

In the meantime, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to fix this. There are times when the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, which causes some errors or unusual responses. 

 

Let's start accessing your account using a different or private browser. You can use either of these shortcut keys:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

 

If it works, I recommend clearing your browser's cache. Doing so will remove the historical data and access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also switch to a different supported browse

I appreciate you for performing the troubleshooting steps to aid this issue. QuickBooks tool hub is the ideal fixing tool when your QBDT account isn't accessible. In this case, we can proceed with other possible solutions. Let's open your company to investigate if the issue is within your file or program.

 

  1. Open the company with all windows closed.
  2. In No Company Open, choose your company file.
  3. Press and hold ALT on your keyboard then select Open. Don't let go until it opens.
  4. Once done, release ALT, enter your password, then press and hold ALT and pick OK.

 

If the issue persists, we can proceed to step 2, under Solution 2 in this article: QuickBooks Desktop won't open. However, if the solution doesn't fix the error, let's run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool and repair the QuickBooks Desktop installation to repair the damaged files.

 

If you're still experiencing the same problem after completing this QuickBooks Doctor method, we suggest calling our QuickBooks Desktop support team so they can investigate and provide another possible fix.

The error message you're getting appears when something prevents this process from happening. It could be because the backup folder is inaccessible, there is damaged data on your file, or your storage drive doesn't have enough space.

 

That said, ensure your QuickBooks for Mac is updated to the latest release and check if you have enough storage capacity.

 

In addition to the information above, let's run the verify and rebuild data tool. It helps identify and resolve common data issues in your company file. By doing so, we can detect the cause of the error.

 

Once the rebuild completes, please verify the data again to ensure there aren't any other issues in the company file.

 

To verify data, you can follow these steps:

 

  1. Hover over the File menu, then choose Utilities.
  2. Select Verify Data, then click OK to close all windows.

Now, let's rebuild the company file data to fix any errors or data damage. 

 

  1. Go to the File menu, then choose Utilities.
  2. Select Rebuild Data, then tap on OK to close all windows.
  3. QuickBooks will prompt you to do a backup before rebuilding your company file, then select OK.
  4. Follow the on-screen  steps to proceed, then click OK once done.

URGENT - I have just created a second account as haven’t been able to access my account for months and hence have been charged again and again, as without having an account you can’t ask for support to a real person. Finally I realised maybe I’ll just create another account. Please can someone reply back as to how to solve this issue. I need at least an email to send to the right people. Thank you.

If you forgot your user ID or password but still have access to your phone or email on file, you can regain access to your account by following these steps:

 

  1. Go to our sign-in help page.
  2. Enter the phone number, email address, or user ID for your account.
  3. If you enter a phone number or email address, we’ll send you a text or email with a verification code. If you enter a user ID, choose which method you prefer.
  4. Enter the verification code we sent, or follow the instructions in the message. We may ask you for a little more info to make sure it’s really you.
  5. When prompted, reset your password. Or, you can select Skip.
