Entering bills has been SO buggy for the past year. First it wouldn't autofill correctly, then it wouldn't let me search for expenses when splitting accounts. Then the SAVE & NEW keyboard shortcut stopped working for one of my QBO accounts but not the other. Now both of them have this new problem - when you open BILLS the cursor used to automatically start in the VENDOR box. Now you have to click in that box with the mouse. Not only does this slow me down tremendously, it also makes my hand hurt to mouse so much, especially in my account where the SAVE & NEW keyboard shortcut doesn't work anymore. I have spent literally four hours on chats about the keyboard shortcut thing and it isn't fixed and I'm certain they're not working on fixing it. I do not have time for another four hour chat about the cursor not starting in the vendor box problem, so I'm posting here in the hopes that someone has had the same problem and been able to fix it. It's really remarkable how bad QB support is.
This isn't the experience we strive to deliver, @pennyd. And I appreciate you for bringing this to our attention.
I recommend sending feedback to our product engineers. To send feedback, follow the below steps.
I can also share some information about why your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account slow and how you can improve its overall performance.
QBO is a web-based accounting service. It relies on your computer or device’s processing power, the available memory (RAM), and your Internet connection speed.
To get the best experience possible when using QBO, I suggest checking if your operating system is up to date and meets the basic requirements to help narrow down the reason for slow performance: System Requirements for QuickBooks Online.
To learn about why your QuickBooks Online is running slow, check this article: Why is my QuickBooks Online slow?.
For future reference, here's a great resource about tracking bills and recording the payments: Enter and manage bills and bill payments in QuickBooks Online.

Thank you, I have submitted feedback.
I'm not sure why you spent so much of your message telling me what to do when QBO is slow. I didn't say it was slow. I said the problems I was having was slowing me down. Your response makes it seem like a robot has addressed my issue and not a real person.
We have the same problem with new bills and credits do not start in the vendor box. Instead you have to tab 6 times to get to the vendor box or click the box. But more importantly, when using keyboard shortcuts to Save and New or Save and Close- any information in the Memo box IS NOT SAVED. I have 3 months of invoices and credits, (9-10 vendors worth) that the customer name that was entered in the memo box is gone! I spent hours with tech support only to be told, "Well quit using the keyboard shortcut then."
I appreciate you for providing details about your concern, Jami. Let me help you save any information you entered in the Memo box field when creating a bill.
As I've tried doing the task on my end, I was able to save the information I entered in the Memo. In your case, you might be experiencing some browser issues which cause QuickBooks to run slow. To rectify this, let's open your QuickBooks using a different browser or a private window. You can use these keyboard shortcuts:
Once done, try to create and save a bill again with a memo. If it works, return to your regular browser and clear the cache. The system occasionally behaves strangely when the browser frequently accesses pages. It could be due to corrupted cache files in your browser. If it still doesn't work, use other supported web engines to learn what computer and browser are needed for the best experience when using QuickBooks.
Unlike before, the cursor won't automatically start in the vendor box when creating a bill. Instead, you'll have to click in that box with the mouse. I understand if it cost you so much time to do it, so I suggest providing feedback to our product engineers about this idea. They may add this feature in future product enhancements to make our program better and more efficient for you to use. You can follow the steps shared by MirriamM above.

Your suggested actions did not help. Also- these were not problems before the forced update. You act as if the cursor has never started in vendor box, when it has. It's not a "feature to add in future products enhancements" it's a feature that was already available and has been corrupted by shoddy web development during the update. The same with the memo box information disappearing. Prior to 3/22/23 we didn't have an issue with it.
The cursor ABSOLUTELY used to start in the vendor box. It is absurd that it no longer does. I can't tell you how many times I have provided feedback in the way you suggest. I used to do it every week. I stopped because I have better things to do with my time. I cannot believe how terrible QB online is, and it just keeps getting worse and worse. I tell everyone I know NOT to use it. I refuse to take on clients who are already using it.
That is such a ridiculous thing for them to suggest! It's like they have never consulted people who actually use their program to understand WHY a keyboard shortcut is needed, or WHY it is vital that the cursor automatically start in the vendor box. I keep thinking QBO can't get worse, but it frequently does.
