Quickbook Desktop 2022 Crashing and stops working

I have similar issues with QuickBooks Desktop 2022 completely shutting down after I just Log in and is about to open the previous pages.

I run QB 2022 Enterprise and QB 2019 Pro on the same desktop. This is because I work with multiple company files at the same time.

Also I have some company files saved on a network and some saved directly on my desktop.

My software consistently gives me error message "unrecoverable error" whenever I am doing my month-end billing.  It all started in April when I started using the QB email option to send out invoices.  I have had support and data services working on this and to-date, August 29th, I am still crashing.  I figured it took me an additional 6 hours to do month-end invoices.  I don't know what else to do.  This is ridiculous!

I have never had that same error message, but I did just "Add Firewall port exception for QuickBooks".  Hoping this solves my problem.  It seems like the most logical solution that was suggested so far.  Just running the tool hub or "fix my file" did nothing.  I will try to post link for the firewall change.  (starting at #3)

This isn't the experience that we want you to have when emailing out invoices in QuickBooks Desktop, @ACES050614. I'll ensure you're able to manage invoices with ease.

When sending invoices, the Unrecoverable Error may occur due to the following reasons:

  • There are missing windows or updates in QuickBooks
  • Data damage
  • Issues on your computer
  • Repair program codes

See this guide on how you can resolve the error: Unrecoverable error in QuickBooks Desktop.

So far there are no known issues sending email invoices in QBDT. As a workaround, I suggest updating Microsoft Office to the latest release. After that, save the form as a PDF and then send an email attachment through your email service provider. Here are the detailed steps:

  1. Select the transaction that you'd want to send.
  2. Choose Print.
  3. Save it as a PDF.
  4. Save it to your preferred location.
  5. Email attachment through your service provider.

We have similar problem. But it is typically one employees computer that crashes the most. Although, the other 4 have done the same thing usually only 1 time a week on average. There is no error code, just says it must abort then shuts down. There were days it would crash every 30 mins. Since running repairs it only happens 3-4x a day.

To try to fix it I have removed/reinstalled QB. I have cleaned our server computer. I have ran fix tools. Nothing seems to help prevent this from happened.

Our QuickBooks Enterprise 22.0 R5P keeps crashing when we print checks.  It happens in multiple company files.  We have tried repairing, reinstalling, etc.  Any fix in the plan for this?

Quickbook Desktop 2022 Crashing and stops working

We also use Quickbooks Desktop 2022 and it crashes 2 to 3 times on start up. I have a small engineering firm. I have determined that it is the little flashy ad that is built into this new version of QB that I had no choice to upgrade to from 2019. I have this Desktop 2022 on 2 different machines and we both get the same problem at the same time, at start up. After about 2 to 3 attempts the ad that is built in, the lower left hand corner no longer causes the glitch and Quickbooks stops crashing. If someone could fix that issue this would make me really happy.

Reymond, does this statement hold up now that there are multiple complaints for the same issue on this one post? I have also found other forums and articles detailing the same issue. When is Intuit going to begin taking this issue seriously? I'm having this issue 3 months later. I saw someone in a separate post mention that 2022 R5 is the cause of the issue, and once he downgraded to R3, he no longer experienced the issue.

QB WAS constanly CRAASHING I DID A REMIOVE pROGRAm and  When I Reinstalled QB 2022 Pro Plus and did not UPDATE the RELEASE,  QB Was Working Fine not crashing, then QB started asking me to Update and the AUTOMATIC UPDATE OPTION now is GRAYED  OUT and I cannot Select NO.

QB then starts to ask me that I have XX times to update in order to open my company file .

QB OBLIGATED ME to do and update in order to USE THE PROGRAM and UPDATE WHICH I know is making the program CRASH.

I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DECIDE IF I HAVE TO automatically UPDATE OR NO.

FIX The issue  or I SEE A CLASS ACTION SUIT  in the near future.

They don't care. They haven't released an update since May.

But if you're starting a class action law suit I have about 20 customers that would gladly join you, they all already moved to a different accounting software because of the lack of response, but sure are angry that the software they paid a year for only worked for 6 months.

I will definitely join a class action.

I am looking for an alternative software, and would like to know which alternative people are using / switching to.

QuickBooks is NOT going to fix this. I think this is the final straw. Bad enough that they abusively force us to purchase every 3 years min for desktop edition. We need to look for another accounting program. There is tons of forums on this issue and this thread is passing 20 pages. We MUST move on. QB is huge, slow and bulky. And has become abusively expensive. Any idea? Don't try to call support, they will just read you the template which has been posted here over and over. Any Ideas?

That is not an update. You and other employees have been posting that same exact unhelpful statement for months. I highly doubt it is true, and suspect you don't really have any way of knowing what Product Development is really doing. In any case, if they had been working on it - actually working on it - since you all starting claiming they were, they'd be done now and it would be fixed.

i too would be interested in joining and also know what software people are going to

i was on the phone today for over 4hrs for another issue with reporting.  the only way a credit will show up is if i report in accrual basis and we are on a cash basis.  they recreated what i did and got the same result but instead of saying its a software issue with the reporting they told me to contact my acct for a solution!  i am beyond frustrated!

We use QB 2020 desktop and have started having the same problem.  Whenever we open up a company file QB immediately crashes.  You have to keep opening and opening the company file and eventually it will stop crashing.  Never had this problem in the past.  This is ridiculous.

Can somebody at Intuit do something other than cut and paste the canned response of "First, please know that this isn't the kind of experience...."  That is a cop-out.  Intuit doesn't care about their customer base they already know they pretty much have a lock on the market.  The issue at hand is this problem needs to be fixed and fixed immediately.  Perhaps if their customer base starts requiring their money back for failure to provide the contracted services, they will do something about the issue.  In the meantime, there is always AccountingPower by AccountantsWorld and Patriot Bookkeeping software.
