QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2024 standalone (non-subscription) version.

Currently, we no longer offer the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Pro 2024 version. However, we do offer QBDT 2024 Pro Plus, which is subscription-based. As you prefer a standalone license, you'll have to buy it through a retailer. 

You can contact your local computer software retailers or authorized resellers and inquire if they have any remaining stocks. They'll be able to assist you in searching for a one-time license. You can also check out online marketplaces like Amazon or eBay, or visit online forums where users buy and sell software licenses. 

Ensure to exercise caution when making transactions with third-party vendors and verify their authenticity. Always check their ratings and reviews beforehand.

Why do you have to upgrade your version to 2024? You can use your QB Desktop 2021 for good.

We simply need to stay up-to-date with the latest version and have access to tax info, tech support and what-not. We pretty much 'refresh' all of our major software about every 3 years. We're not happy about being forced into a subscription model though! The old standalone, 1-license for 3 years Desktop Pro version served our needs just fine. What on Earth made them change? When it ain't broke, don't fix it!

They just want you switching to QB Online. If you don't use any add-ons (e.g QB Payroll, QB Payment), you can keep using 2021 for good.

The potential problem is the bank feed feature after May 2024. You can download .qbo files from your bank BUT you can't import directly into your QB Desktop. If your bank provides *.csv files, you will need to use a 3rd party tool to import it into QB Desktop. It's a $199 one time license and you can get $100 cashback to purchase the license from a partner.

Which QB Desktop year version do you have?

2021 and I do not want to use QBO so I’m sticking to the desktop.  I’ve had two mortgage lenders have my personal information leaked. I have no interest in giving intuit access to my banking information.

They still support QB Desktop 2021 until May. If you can still import *.qbo files after May, consider yourself lucky.

My 2021 QuickBooks Desktop Pro has already started disallowing QBO files from being transferred into the program.  The error message says that this ability expired 5/31/2024.  Not that date yet, is it?

I've seen several similar reports in the community since last week. I'm not sure if this is just a glitch for some users or they have disabled the feature for some banks. Do you need to run any add-ons (e.g QB Payment, QB Payroll) after May 2024?

I need to run payroll (not assisted), merchant payments, bank feeds, etc.  I am a little wary of purchasing one of the online QBD programs that say they aren't subscriptions, just a one time fee.

You can contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA and they can help to obtain the license of QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus or Premier Plus to upgrade your version. Then you can purchase Enhanced Payroll separately to integrate with QB Desktop 2024. Intuit will support QB Desktop 2024 + Enhanced Payroll until 2027.

Hi QB Team, I pretty much need what this chain is about. Looking for a desktop version that works until 2027 without subscription. I use QB's payroll to pay my 2-3 employees. I see that I am currently have an assisted payroll subscription at $120 a month. Can I buy any QBDT 2024 or I need pro/pro plus or something else to keep everything working?

2. Go to the QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us option from the Help menu.
3. Select Contact Us.
4. Describe your issue, then select Continue.

6. You'll receive a single-use code. Enter it and select Continue.

Assisted Payroll will be discontinued this year and you can't renew it. You may have 2 options

1. QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus/Premier Plus + Enhanced Payroll. You can get $100 cashback.

2. QB Desktop 2021 + a stand alone payroll app. You will register payroll expenses as JE in QB Desktop manually.

Why don't you consider using a stand alone payroll app?

Will the QBDT 2024 Pro  through a retailer be a lifetime license or will, as your rep "warned" me, will the program deactivate in a year? Getting  a lifetime license has been a frustrating experience.

Since QBDT Pro 2024 is subscription-based with annual license renewal, it doesn't have a lifetime license like the previous QBDT versions even if purchased from a retailer. Additionally, it would be best to also inquire to them about the license terms if you consider purchasing a QBDT Pro 2024 license from a legitimate retailer.
