Afaik, there is no QB Desktop 2021 Pro Plus perpetual license. They only offer QB Desktop 2021 Pro with a one time license (perpetual) and QB Desktop 2021 Pro Plus with the subscription license. Login to your CAMPS and it would be very helpful if you share the screenshot with us here to make sure.

As I posted in response to your comment earlier this week:  

The "support" does indeed only last for a year, hence the "Pro" and the "Plus".  The software lasts after that "support" service goes away.

And you know what they do when you have a nightmare problem like the W-2s having some obviously crazy info in a box or two?  You call support in a panic and try to explain the issue and then get hung up on, so you call again and someone tries to help and then hangs up on you midway though, and this keeps happening till you get someone who can help!  I think it was # 6 or #8 that actually helped me meantime I am about to have a heart attack from the stress and can't understand why I keep getting dropped!  I finally figured out this must just be how they do it - instead of the first person saying "I'm sorry, this issue is over my head let me get you someone with experience" they just make you keep going through the hang ups until you get a good helper!  And it is not easy or fast to figure out all the right buttons to push on the phone to get someone at all!  INSANITY AND RUDE - I wish I had time to switch to a better company.  They are just evil and have no compassion.

I'm with you all who are tired of the increases in cost.  Going from $2/employee to $5 is ridiculous!!  I don't need your extra features!  I just Intuit QB Payroll Monthly Per Employee Fee Usage at a reasonable price.  $3 is fine but $5 is too much and I've been looking into Medlin software that cost $74/year which is WAY cheaper then QB so yep, I'll be leaving soon as well because, in this day and time of inflation, we small businesses have to cut where we can to survive.  Thanks for nothing QB.  

I had a QB desktop One time and they made me change to the yearly subscription.  I like the previous person don't need all these upgrades to nothing.  We are a very, very, small magazine publishing company for print, which is difficult in itself - advertisers are not flocking to the door here.  We have been in business for 20 years and have always used the originals and went out and bought the upgrades as we felt we needed - but NEVER forced to buy an upgrade and then pay a subscription on top of that and then the payroll fee - WHEN I saw this $40.00 today, I could not believe my eyes!!!!!  I am down to four in the building people, having lost another one; and two remote workers; I will have to look elsewhere also - and that is a pitty that money grabbers are doing this all over the place.  Enough is Enough.

NO ONE wants to pay for the many extra features that they do NOT use! I've had QB Desktop Pro since we started our business in 2008. We never use the payroll or ANY online features. In 2021, our accountant told us to update to QB Desktop Pro Plus 2022 - for $350+ on Amazon. NOW I'm being told my "subscription" price will be increased to $550+ !

This is OUTRAGEOUS. We do not use most of the additional features. We have a small shop and I am the sole user of our QB program.

Will QB ever offer a cafeteria style option? QB Monopoly on the business accounting industry has given them free reign to gouge uses. Every time I try to see some answers from QB forums, I mostly read angry customers who have the same problem I have. Don't call them, as they will drive you crazy trying to sell you things you DO NOT need.

I am actively looking for a new accounting program. QB will be losing a faithful customer of 14 years.

If you are working solo on a desktop (PC or Mac) to manage your book and only need basic features, you should explore this one. You can use the program for as long as you like, use all the features and enter as much data as required. There are no time limits, no usage limits, no ads (at this time). This program is quite popular in Asia and Europe.

I've used QB Desktop Pro for 14 years, usually upgrading every 3 years. In 2021 my accountant told me I had to switch to QB Desktop Pro Plus 2022, because QB was switching to subscription mode, with different tiers, depending on how many bells or whistles companies need. So I did, and now the price went from $350 to $550 for ONE YEAR!  

I don't use payroll, or inventory, or visa processing, etc, etc. So another QB user suggest Manager.
But NOW I can't find out how to transfer my data to this new software.

I have Dec 3, 2022 as a deadline- as I've been told my data will be "Inaccessible" once the script expires! WTF?  I've been googling like crazy trying to find out how to transfer the data, but I can only find out how to transfer data TO QuickBooks!

If the QB vampires goal was to anger A LOT of the ir customers ~ congratulations! Mission Accomplished! The MORE difficult they make it to leave, the more determined I am to quit QB. 

Plan to tell everyone who will listen that they shouldn't EVER consider QB for their small business. What a nightmare.

If you switch to a newer version (year) of QuickBooks Desktop, you will need to upgrade your company files. But before that, you'll need to create a backup file first to make sure that the data will be saved before upgrading.

To get started, let's perform the following steps to back up your company file: 

1. Go to the File menu, choose Back Up Company, then select Create Local Backup.

2. Select Local Backup.

3. Click Options.

4. In the Tell us where to save your backup copies field, select Browse and select the location in which to save the backup copy.

5. Hit OK.

6. In the Create Backup window, specify whether to back up automatically, and select Options to set options for automatic backups.

7. Select New to set a backup schedule in the Schedule Backups dialog.

8. Click Finish.

Once done, you can now upgrade your QuickBooks Desktop Pro to QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2022 version. 

Here's how:

1. Make sure all users are logged out of your company file.

2. Open your new version of QuickBooks Desktop.

3. Go to the File menu and select Open or Restore Company.

4. Click Restore a backup copy and then click Local backup.

5. Browse your computer for your company file. Select it and then click Open.

6. Sign in to your company file as an admin user.

7. Before you upgrade, QuickBooks automatically creates a backup of your existing company file. You can select Change this default location to save the backup in a specific folder.

8. Choose Update Now to start the upgrade.

9. Click Done.

After that, I recommend updating QuickBooks so you have the latest software release.

I WAS (and should be still) a subscriber to QuickBooks Desktop - for over twenty years.  Intuit FORCED me to go QBOnline.  They made my data inaccessible from the Desktop startup screen. 

I am trying to use QBO, and there is SO MUCH that doesn't work without spending a lot of time clicking on the  tutorials, reading feedback in the "community", spending even more money for my accountant's time and consultation . . .

And "Customer Service" is a joke.

Sorry, Fiat.  I realized that later.as I read your other posts.

I am so angry with Intuit/QuickBooks and their lack of customer care.

Again, I apologize for making that comment.

Our QB annual payroll subscription price increased. AND our monthly per employee fee increased WITHOUT NOTICE from $2/employee to $5/employee. So we went from $10 per month to $26 per month. NO WARNING! This is on TOP of the $535 we pay for the annual payroll subscription. The features are NOT worth this price to me! They have TERRIBLE reasons why you are paying so much more for so many more "wonderful" features (that most of us won't ever use). I only use the basics and don't need or want more features. This is highway robbery. And poor business practice to just surprise your customer with that massive of an increase with no warning. Time to start looking at options... Intuit better act fast so work to salvage the trust and loyalty of their customers.

Why am I getting two monthly fees that vary from 59.95 and 71.95.  I have QB2022 and I am running two companies with each only having one payroll employee.  I get two different charges each month.

Login to your CAMPS as the Primary Contact and check your payment history. Did you find the same charges?

Yes, you can log in to CAMPS as primary admin to check the details of each fee as suggested by Fiat Lux - ASIA above. Here's how:

1. Sign in to camps.intuit.com. Or get help signing in.
2. Select View your transaction history.
3. From the Time Period drop-down menu, select a date range of transactions. You can set transactions from the past 2 years.
4. Find the order you need, then select the order number to see order details.
5. To print the transaction list, select Print this page.
6. Choose Back to My Account to go back to your CAMPS dashboard.

From there, you can also update your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) payment information. Here's how: Change your QuickBooks Desktop payment method.

In case you need to make some disputes about the fees you've received, you can always connect with our Support Team so they can review this further.
