"Something's not right" error in Accountant Copy

In QBD 2021 and QB Enterprise 2021 I'm getting the following error when trying to view/export change file:

"Something's not right. We're unable to complete your request at the moment, try again later."

This has been happening for 2 weeks.  I've been on the phone with support, they say they're aware of the problem, but it's not geting fixed.  This is happening on 4 of my clients; 2 use QB Desktop 2021 and 2 use QB Enterprise 2021.

Come on Intuit - FIX THIS ISSUE NOW!!!!!  It's tax season, end-of-year and clients are waiting!!!!!

"Something's not right" error in Accountant Copy

I see where you're coming from, @Marilyn2400.

Let's go trough some troubleshooting steps to fix the error you encountered with your Accountant's Copy in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) and help managed your clients' data accordingly.

First, you'll have to ensure you run QuickBooks as the Administrator and your software is in the latest updates to have the newest features and product improvements.

Next, you can utilize the Rebuild Data tool to identify if the error is related to data damage. It's a built-in tool that can help automatically fix data issues with your company file. To do this, here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Select Utilities, then choose Rebuild Data.
  3. On the QuickBooks Information window, select OK. Follow the onscreen steps to save a backup.
  4. Let the tool repair your file. It may take some time.
  5. When the tool finishes, select OK.
  6. Go to the File menu.
  7. Select Utilities, then choose Verify Data.
  8. Let the tool check your file for data issues.

If the issue persists, continue performing the recommended solutions in this article, starting with Solution 2Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.

If the error continues, even after performing the troubleshooting steps above, I'd recommend contacting our Technical Support team again. They can create a case to initiate an investigation of your issue and guide you with a fix in no time.

"Something's not right" error in Accountant Copy

If you had read my initial post, you would see that it is happening to 4 (FOUR) of my clients.  Not a data issue.

Marilyn,

Did you get this figured out/resolved?  Having the same issue with a QB 2020 accountants copy when trying to export the changes.  Have copied the file locally and still get the error.  Very frustrating.

I recognize how frustrating it is when things aren't running the way they should be, murph2131. Let me ensure you'll get the information you need when exporting Accountant's copy from QuickBooks.

Since you're using QuickBooks Desktop 2020, features and other data aren't now supported in this version. Also, if you're having the Accountant Copy Transfer Services, you're unable to send accountant copies to your desktop account.

For now, you may consider upgrading your QBDT to the latest or supported versions. This way, you'll stay updated on its recent features and product advancements. To do this:

  1. Select Upgrade Now.
  2. Select Keep old version on my computer if you want to keep your current QuickBooks. Then select Let’s go. QuickBooks downloads, installs, and activates the new version for you. It updates your company file(s).
  3. When the upgrade is done, select Open QuickBooks.

However, if the issue persists, you can follow Steps 3-5 outlined in this article to help you export these changes and get back on track: Fix errors when exporting accountant's changes.

Furthermore, you'll want to review and reconcile your accounts to ensure these matches your bank and credit card statements. Doing so will help us verify your accounting data are balanced and accurate.

We'll always be around whenever you require further help when managing QuickBooks data files. Feel free to leave them in the comment below. We'll keep an eye on this thread to back you up.

Before anything else, we'd like to appreciate your effort in performing the verify and rebuild troubleshooting steps.

However, if this doesn't fix the issue, I recommend contacting QBDT Support to help you dig into the root cause of the issue and find a fix.

I'll share this article to help you adjust the print alignment of continuous-feed printers: Fix print alignment of continuous-feed printers.
