Quickbooks Bill Pay Elite - Payment Limit

Hi,

Our company has these active subscriptions in QBO:
* Quickbooks Advanced
* Quickbooks Bill Pay Elite

We need to know precisely what the limits are for how much we can send using "Quicbooks Bill Pay Elite".

Specifically:

1. Does QBO set a daily limit on the total number of payments we can make?

2. If yes, does QBO apply this limit to the day that we schedule the payment to go out on or the day that we actually enter the payment into QBO?

3. Does QBO set a daily volume limit on the sum of all of the dollars of all of the payments made that day?

4. If yes, is this daily volume limit for the day that we schedule the payments to go out on or the day that we actually enter the payments into QBO?

5. We believe that the dollar limit of any individual payment that we make is $450,000. Is that correct?

6. Does QBO set a monthly limit on the total number of payments we can make?

7. If yes, does QBO apply this limit to the monthly that we schedule the payment to go out or the month that we actually enter the payment into QBO?

8. Does QBO set a monthly volume limit on the sum of all of the dollars of all of the payments made that month?

9. If yes, is this monthly volume limit for the monthly that we schedule the payments to go out on or the month that we actually enter the payments into QBO?

We often receive this error:

"Payment can’t be scheduled right now
You’ve reached your payment limit.
Try scheduling again tomorrow or later this month."

We like "Quickbooks Bill Pay Elite" but may be forced to move to a different platform if we can't get answers to these questions.

Thank you!!

Quickbooks Bill Pay Elite - Payment Limit

Good day, @gop1. I'd be glad to provide answers to questions about QuickBooks Bill Pay.

Currently, QuickBooks Bill Pay doesn't impose daily or monthly limits on the number of payments you can make or the total amount of those payments.

However, for ACH Payments, there is a transaction limit of $25,000 per payment. This limit doesn't affect the overall monthly ACH payments under your QuickBooks Bill Pay subscription.

Concerning the error message you received, I'd suggest getting in touch with our QuickBooks Bill Pay Customer Team. They can check your account and provide answers as to why you're getting these prompts.

To learn more about QuickBooks Bill Pay, you can check out this resource: Things you need to know about QuickBooks Bill Pay for QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, you can generate reports in QuickBooks, such as the Transaction List by Date, to see all payments made to a vendor throughout the year.

Feel free to ask if you have any more questions about QuickBooks Bill Pay payment limits. I'm here to help.

@gop1

You should consider having a free Melio account to sync with QBO as an alternate option. While Melio doesn't restrict payment amounts, your bank may have its own limits on the amount of money you can pay. It's important to check with your bank before making a big payment to avoid any setbacks. You can also get a $100 cashback to pay the first bill.

Quickbooks Bill Pay Elite - Payment Limit

Hello,

Thank you for your response.I want to be friendly and kind on this forum, but also I need to be direct with my communication to explain our business' situation.

A few things:

1. We have sent multiple payments from QBO bill pay that are individually more than $25,000 each. This is exactly the type of problem we are running into. We get information from QBO support/the QBO team which does not match our actual experience with the product. We need to know these numbers with EXACT precision. Because we have successfully sent multiple payments in the past, each individually more than $25,000, we're unable to trust that response.

2. We receive this error very often:

"Payment can’t be scheduled right now
You’ve reached your payment limit.
Try scheduling again tomorrow or later this month."

Therefore, it is hard for us to believe that QBO does not have any limits in place.

3. We have spent at least 10 hours on the phone with Quickbooks support or using the chat regarding this issue. Each time, we have to go through the multi-hour process of the agent creating a ticket for a bug in the software. We have no more available time to spend with Quickbooks Support, we have fully exhausted our resources on that.

4. Similar to many QBO clients, we have mission-critical financial operations that have to get done. We cannot wait until the next time we see this error:

"Payment can’t be scheduled right now
You’ve reached your payment limit.
Try scheduling again tomorrow or later this month."

to begin to explore with QBO support what might be going on and what the fix might be. We need to know this information ahead of time.

Any other help/insight on this would help relieve our concerns!

Thanks.

Thank you! We have created a Melio account and are pursuing that as an alternative if we cannot get answers to our above question.

Hello, @gop1.

I hear your sentiments about paying bills in QuickBooks bill pay. Let me share some insights about this matter.

The error you are experiencing is likely due to reaching the monthly limit for processing payments. Since you have exceeded this limit, I recommend trying again in 24-48 hours.

I'll include this article about managing your bills and payments: Enter and manage bills and bill payments in QuickBooks Online.

Please let us know if you have any further questions about bills and payments in QBO. We're here to help whenever you need!

Thank you for your response. Did you see my original post? I agree we are reaching some kind of limit.

We need to know precisely what the limits are for how much we can send using "Quicbooks Bill Pay Elite".

Specifically we have to know:

We like "Quickbooks Bill Pay Elite" but if we can't get precise, accurate answers to these questions, we will be forced to use Melio or another third-party.

Thank you!!
