My projects in quickbooks online are not syncing to tsheets
Can anyone help me? quickbooks support is useless
Hello, area 51.
I also expect help and assistance from a product's support channel when I encounter an issue. I'd like to turn the tables around by helping you out.
Did you receive a specific error message when syncing your projects? If so, let me know in the comment section below. I'm here to lay down the solutions.
In the meantime, let's do the following solutions to help you sync your projects.
You'll want to manually reimport the projects by running the Import tool in TSheets. This might be a connection issue, so I would recommend doing this at least three or five times.
Click the QuickBooks icon at the top right part of the screen, then choose Import. Afterwards, open the icon menu again then check the View Sync Log status.
If it's still not syncing properly, use a private or incognito window. Sometimes, a cache issue can prevent you from syncing the data properly. Here are the shortcut keys:
From there, run the sync tool again for your projects. When it successfully syncs, go back to the regular browser and clear the cache. Although, you can also use another supported browser if you prefer it over clearing the cache.
Check out our guides if you need help with your TSheets account after fixing the issue. Browse a specific topic here, then look for an article.
I can offer assistance again should you have other questions regarding QuickBooks Online or TSheets.
I am repeatedly having the same problem and your manual "import" in TSheets works. But, isn't TSheets supposed to be updating with QBO automatically? What's going on here?
Hi @drubinoff,
I'll point you in the right direction for support with your concern about the QuickBooks Online (QBO) and TSheets integration process.
Since you stated above that you keep having the same issue, I suggest you contact our TSheets support for assistance. They can investigate this issue further, and find out as to why you keep having it. They can later provide a resolution to the issue at hand.
Let me know in the comments below if you have other questions about this process. I'll be sure to get back to you.
I would like to point out that I have attempted to resolve the exact same issue with my Quickbook Online / Tsheets integration through the Tsheets support service, and they have been absolutely ineffective at fixing the issue. I am beginning to think that the integration is total garbage and am not sure what I am paying for if I can't do something as simple as track time against projects in Tsheets, and have that synced appropriately to Quickbooks Online.
I’m sorry for the confusion here, @AndrewM_CMC.
Let me explain a bit here. With QuickBooks Online Plus or QuickBooks Online Elite, projects will import into QuickBooks Time (formerly TSheets). Without QuickBooks Online Plus or Elite, projects are imported but as customers or sub-customers and must be added to projects manually and projects remain separate in the two products.
For QuickBooks integrated accounts (QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop), choose an existing customer or sub-customer from the provided list to use it as a project. To add a new project that is not listed, add that project (as a customer) in QuickBooks first, then import. It will be added as a Customer in QuickBooks Time. So, a project will be associated with a customer from QuickBooks Online, rather than a project from QuickBooks Online.
You can read more about QuickBooks Time project capabilities but checking out this article: Set up and use projects in QuickBooks Time.
I’m happy to share this feedback with our development team for future changes within the product, and you can always keep an eye on our blog for the newest updates within our Intuit products.
Please let me know what else I can help you with, I’m only a post away to answer any questions! Have a great rest of your day.
Oh my God I hate hate hate QBO and TSheets so much. Absolutely the most clumsy, confusing inconsistent, overly complicated trash software I've ever used.
Can you let me know why Tsheets and QBO are not syncing for reporting? I have employees enter time in Tsheets and the information comes over for payroll processing but is only recorded as the full payroll instead of it applying to our cost accounting. For example, customer ABC Company does not show any wages or payroll taxes applied to it. It used to track it for us. however, when Tsheets migrated in March 2021, it stopped reporting.
Please help.
Thanks, SCOCO

Hello SCOCOAcct,
Thank you for joining the QuickBooks Community! I will be happy to help! Once you have your project set up, you can track hourly labor cost and profitability in QuickBooks Online. You can switch between viewing payroll expenses or hourly costs:
I recommend viewing this article that will show you how to set up and use payroll expenses and estimated hourly costs to track labor expenses for your p...
Please let me know if you have any questions. I will be delighted to answer them. Wishing you a productive day!
There was no option for me to upgrade to Elite, however I was on Plus and upgraded to Advanced.
It's still not synchronizing for me, am I missing something obvious?
Hi there @Andrei Borodin! I'm so glad you joined us in the QuickBooks Community. I was able to find your account to see what might be going on, and I noticed that in the QuickBooks Time account I see, it's not connected with a QuickBooks Online account.
It's always possible I have the wrong account, but to be sure, do you see the QuickBooks menu in the top bar when you log in to QuickBooks Time?
This integration needs to be set up before Projects can sync over. This video covers how to do that step-by-step.
On the other hand, if you see that menu but are still unable to sync projects, let me know! I'll dig into what else might be going on. Just reply to the post, and I'll be back to help.
Ah, I do not!
Thanks for pointing this out, will follow the video instructions.
I followed the instructions, however, it appears to me that my link is in some weird state. I got the following error when attempting to subscribe:
Unable to process your request at this time. Please sign out and try again later. If the issue persists, please contact support and reference this message.(Error code:-81594)
I have verified the address of both subscriptions to be exactly the same.
Hello there, @Andrei Borodin. I appreciate your update.
I can see the urgency of getting your sync issue resolved. Let me route you to the best support who can investigate and provide the appropriate fix for this matter so you can connect your QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Time accounts.
Since the Community is a public forum, and we'll need to collect some personal information to pull up your account, I encourage you to reach out to our QuickBooks Time Customer Care team. They have all the necessary tools to check the cause of the connection error you've encountered and guide you with a fix.
To do this using the QuickBooks Time computer app, here's how to reach them via chat:
There are other contact options (i.e., phone) that QuickBooks Time offers. To know more about them, please refer to this article: Contact QuickBooks Time support.
Once the issue is resolved, you may also want to check out this article as your reference to guide you in tracking and managing employees' timesheets in QBO: Track and manage QuickBooks Time in QuickBooks Online.
Please don't hesitate to keep us posted on how it goes in the comments below. If you have other concerns about syncing your QBO data to QuickBooks Time, I'm always ready to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @Andrei Borodin.
Hi there @Andrei Borodin! I wanted to follow back up here to share what I found while digging in further. It appears that error is happening because you're using a version of QuickBooks Online Payroll that is currently incompatible with QuickBooks Time. At the moment, QB Time only integrates with QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium or Elite.
You will still be able to use both products and can export reports from QuickBooks Time to bring the data to QuickBooks, but unfortunately, we won't be able to integrate them to perform that automatic sync.
If you'd like any more information on how to navigate getting information back and forth, or if you want to explore other payroll options, please don't hesitate to let me know! I'm here to help with whatever is best for you and your business.
Edit the project from QBO, then just hit save without making any changes
Thank you so much for this. You helped me out so much. Quickbooks support is useless.
