Normally, when you e-file the 1099s forms, your contractors will get an email to view their copies. If they have an existing QuickBooks Self-Employed account, they will see the form in the Documents section.
For this case, I would recommend requesting a callback or connect with our Chat team to find those forms. They can coordinate with other departments as well like QuickBooks Self-Employed support.

And if the sub-contractor does not have QBO Self-Employed are they emailed and snail mailed? How do I verify that my clients' sub-contractors were sent their 1099? I thought it would show up in the Company file under their documents.

I'm here to share some details about 1099 in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
You'll have to invite your sub-contractor to fill out the 1099 form. Once they receive the email invitation, they'll be able to create a free and secure version of the QuickBooks Self-Employed account.
Once the form is submitted, they'll receive an email when it's ready for download. Then, they'll have to click the link in the email to sign in to QuickBooks. From there, they can view or print the form.
