We will help you find your contractors' 1099 forms, rich-smith.

Normally, when you e-file the 1099s forms, your contractors will get an email to view their copies. If they have an existing QuickBooks Self-Employed account, they will see the form in the Documents section.

For this case, I would recommend requesting a callback or connect with our Chat team to find those forms. They can coordinate with other departments as well like QuickBooks Self-Employed support.

  1. Click on Help and choose Contact Us.
  2. Copy and paste your post and click Let's talk.
  3. Choose from Chat or Request for a callback.

If you have additional questions, you can always go back to this thread.

And if the sub-contractor does not have QBO Self-Employed are they emailed and snail mailed? How do I verify that my clients' sub-contractors were sent their 1099? I thought it would show up in the Company file under their documents.

Let me first welcome you here in the Community, CDWhite.

I'm here to share some details about 1099 in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

You'll have to invite your sub-contractor to fill out the 1099 form. Once they receive the email invitation, they'll be able to create a free and secure version of the QuickBooks Self-Employed account.

Once the form is submitted, they'll receive an email when it's ready for download. Then, they'll have to click the link in the email to sign in to QuickBooks. From there, they can view or print the form.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
  2. Go to the Clients menu.
  3. Select the Forms tab.
  4. From there, you can view and print the form.

For more information about accessing 1099 forms in QuickBooks, I suggest checking this article: Fill out a W-9 and View your 1099-MISC.

Additionally, I've included our general guide to help self-employed individuals file their taxes: QuickBooks Self-Employed Annual Tax Guide.

It's my pleasure to help you. For other questions or concerns about 1099, I recommend reaching out to us.
