Hello @malcolmwalls.
Thanks for joining the Community. I'd be glad to assist you with configuring your account.
Just to clarify, are you trying to set up a UK QuickBooks Online account? If so, it sounds like you may have signed up for the US version. These versions are optimized and configured for their respective regions, so options such as postal codes can vary. Additionally, you can signup for the UK version at the following link: QuickBooks UK.
I'm also including an article that includes the steps for canceling the account so as to avoid any future charges: How to Cancel Your Subscription.
Should you have meant something else, please let me know by posting a comment below and I'll happy to continue assisting. Have a good one.
I was thinking the same so i cancel this one and sign up with the Uk version on the link you provided. I was on a 30 day trial so no loss and only been seeing what it can do etc.
Thank you

Hi again, @malcolmwalls.
I'm glad to hear that you now have the right version and that it's working much better for you.
I've gone ahead and submitted feedback based on this interaction and signing up for the correct region. Feedback is submitted to the Development Team when looking at ways to improve the product. QuickBooks Online is constantly evolving and I can assure you that your input matters.
If I can be of any additional assistance, just let me know. Hoping this response finds you with a smile.
I have an ongoing account and don’t want to start again but am having the same problem, I need to change my details so I can add my postcode to my address details, please help.
The postcode depends on the location of your company, RoutledgeCleaning.
If it's located in United States of America, you'll have to sign up for QuickBooks US version. However, if it's in the United Kingdom, subscribe to QuickBooks UK.
You can verify the country using the URL:
If you want to sign up for the UK version, you can use these links:
You can browse the overview of QuickBooks Self-Employed to know more.
You always have my back if you have other concerns.
Make sure you are using the version for the location of your company. If you are in UK and you are using QBO US version, consider these steps:
1. Explore the trial period of Chronobooks to copy your data between QBO accounts.
2. Once you are ready to proceed, open a new QBO UK version.
3. Migrate the data and cancel your QBO US account.
Can i ask..
My son is in USA as is his business, he uses quickbooks online. I have been invited and followed the link, but my details are not accepted.. telephone & postcode. I am wanting to assist as a bookkeeper and live in the uk.
how do we make this work?
If your son is using QBO US version, you can signup for QBOA US account for free by using your UK phone number to assist your son as accountant.

So now I have come up with another problem. Because I accepted my sons invite, and partly got through the details. Up to phone and zip code .I now cannot access the uk phone number option.
Any clues to a solution?
Thank you in advance
Laura
Thank you for coming back to the thread and adding extra details about your concern, Laura636. I'll share how inviting users from different regions works in QuickBooks, and then I'll make sure you can still achieve your goal by following the alternative steps below.
As previously stated, if your son is using the QBO US version, you will need to use a US phone number to access the option and for you to accept the invitation. With this, you can only accept invitations from the same QBO region.
However, you can still work for your son in other countries. To do this, you can let them invite you as the Company Administrator for you to access their file. You can share these steps with your son to accomplish the process:
Once done, you'll need to accept the invitation. This way, you can help your son manage the data from their QBO account. Feel free to check these resources for additional insights:
You can always click the comment below if you still have concerns about the details shared above, I'd be glad to help you. Take care and stay safe, Laura636.
