My sales receipts usually have 30-50 stock items. They are around same stock items every week. Same thing is for purchases. Is there an option where I can prepare sales receipt / purchase order in excel and then upload it on QB?
I'm glad you reached out to me today, sam_j.
Yes, there's an option where you can prepare these transactions in Excel and import it to QuickBooks.
QuickBooks Apps enhance the capabilities of QBO, each working together to help you with your business. To get this job done, you'll need to integrate an app that'll let you upload your prepared transactions to QBO.
Let me help you find this app an walk you through the integration:
That should do it! Once you're done, you'll be all set to upload your transactions to QBO using this app. To learn more about this process, you may check out this article:

It really should be mentioned that apps are not free; they cost more money.
Also it was announced at a recent new feature webinar that QBO will be allowing the import of invoices in the future, built-in, without the need for an app
Thank you for sharing, Malcolm Ziman.
There are plenty of apps developed by third-party businesses that they can integrate with QuickBooks.
While some of them have a fee, there are also some applications they could use for free. All of these apps are available in the App Center, or they could visit Apps.Intuit.com to look for them.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
Hello Sam,
In the intuit appStore there is an app named "Business Importer".
You will be able to import sales receipts, purchase orders and other entities from xlxs/csv files which include up to 50 lines (for 14 day trial period). And if you'll like it, as a subscribed user, you will be able to import files with amount of lines, only limited by the QBO.
Hi,
Yes. It is possible to import Sales Receipts and Purchase Orders from Excel to QB Online. 'Excel Transactions Importer and Deleter' App would help. You can refer to the article below.

Hi.
I have a small nonprofit organization. I get donations that I can put into excel and want to import onto QB online. I don't have so many that it warrants paying a monthly fee. You mention that "there are there are also some applications they could use for free". Could you point me in the right direction?
I believe what is "free" is only limited to the trial version. Can you spare $10/month?? You can prepare Sales Receipts data with the following template

then utilize an importer tool

Hi team -
It looks like there is a way to bulk upload sales receipts (via link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-uk/help-article/import-transactions/import-sales-rece...) but when I click the Gear icon, my import options do not have "Sales receipts". Is there a reason why I cannot see that or is this feature just no longer available?
Hi there, mariahchen116.
The option to import sales receipt directly from the Gear icon is available for UK version. For the QuickBooks Online US version, I'd suggest looking for an app that can import the said transactions by batch. Here's how:
I'd also suggest sending Feedback to our developers by hitting the Gear icon and then selecting Feedback. You can track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.
You can check this reference if you want to set up recurring sales receipt: Set up a recurring sales receipt.
I'm just a post-away whenever you have concerns creating recurring transactions.
The feature is available on QBO UK version, not US version. You need to use the importer tool as I mentioned earlier.

I agree, SaasAnt is very useful and definitely gets the job done.
More useful would be QBO actually opening functionality that is already in the UK version of the program!
It is ridiculous that the UK version has capabilities not offered in the US. What is the reasoning behind that decision?
Hi there, SammiJane.
As mentioned by my colleague above, the option to import sales receipts directly from the Gear icon is available for the UK version. I can see how this functionality would be beneficial to your business.
I encourage sending feedback directly to our Product Development team. These requests are sent directly to the US development team that reviews all customer feature requests.
Here's how to submit feedback:
Also, we have gone ahead and submitted the request internally. However, we still recommend using the Feedback tab. This way, you'll receive email updates if the feature request you've submitted gets implemented.
For future reference, the following article outlines the steps on how to personalize the look on your forms: Customize Invoices, Estimates, and Sales Receipts.
Keep me posted if you have any additional questions about importing concerns. I'll be right here to help.
I'm not the bookkeeper for our business but while we wait for Intuit to incorporate the UK version of sales receipt imports into the US version of QB Online and Desktop Enterprise(hopefully), is there a way to import a sales receipt as a paid invoice so the existing import process can be used? Our website shopping cart has a feature where we can export sales in an ASCII csv text file. Be great to import these directly into QB.
Hello, Lonnie. Thanks for joining the thread.
I can share insights about importing invoices into the QuickBooks Online (QBO) US version.
While an invoice is a single transaction, we need a separate payment transaction that pays and closes out the invoice. A sales receipt transaction on the other hand is one transaction that records both the sale and the payment at the same time. Due to this difference between sales receipts and invoice transactions, there isn't a way to import a sales receipt as a paid invoice into QBO.
You can consider editing the CSV file you export from your shopping cart to make it compatible with QBO since QBO allows importing invoices via CSV. Kindly refer to this article for the file formatting before you import the invoices. Once done with importing the invoices, you'll have to record payments manually.
However, I understand that it's important to be able to import sales receipts into the software directly. For this, I suggest finding a third-party import utility app within QBO. Here's how:
