The item may have been inactivated, @diane. I'll guide you in changing the quantity so you can continue creating a bill or invoice.
To clarify, did the error appear when making an invoice or bill? Have you inactivated the item and tried to adjust the quantity? Any additional information can help us figure out the situation.
Inactive items won't appear on any sales forms or reports. The item must be active to adjust the quantity. If you need to reactivate it, refer to this article: Add product and service items to QuickBooks Online.
If everything's good, I've got other instructions to fix this. The cache on your browser affects the program's display. To isolate this, use a private browser to access your QuickBooks account. It doesn't retain local files so this helps rule out the possibility of a webpage issue.
Here are the keyboard shortcuts:
From there, check the scroll bar and make the necessary display adjustments. If this works, clear the browser's cache to start with a clean slate. You can also use other supported browsers as alternatives.

Thanks

I have been having this same issue for 3 months and no one seems to be able to fix it. I am about to swap accounting software over it. i can't track inventory or put in bills. Quickbooks gives you this error message but you can't click on it to tell you which product is causing the issue. Hell, they should list the products causing the issue with the error message. Real pain in my back side.
I understand how this situation has taken much of your time, @SFS2. I'm here to ensure this gets resolved right away.
The reason you're unable to track your inventory may be because of an inactive item. Please note that this item won't appear on your sales forms or reports. To reactivate it, please refer to this article: Add product and service items to QuickBooks Online.
If everything seems fine with the item, a cache-related issue is likely causing the problem. If this is the case, you can perform some troubleshooting steps. First, use a private browser to access your QuickBooks account. This type of browser doesn't retain local files, which helps rule out the possibility of a webpage issue.
Here are the shortcut keys:
Once you're in the private browser, you can check the scroll bar and make any necessary display adjustments. If this works, you can clear the browser's cache to remove the webpage data that's causing the issue. Alternatively, you can use other supported browsers.
If the problem persists, I recommend contacting our support team. They can investigate this further and come up with a solution.
