Yes, you will have the option to go back to QuickBooks Online Accountant at this time. Note, if you have transferred clients to a target account, those will continue to be centralized in a target Quickbooks Online Accountant account. We strongly encourage you to return to the Intuit Accountant Suite when your team is ready so you can benefit from the newest innovations.
Books Close is available at no additional cost throughout the beta program. You will be billed $8 per onboarded client per month for up to 50 clients or $6 per onboarded client per month for over 50 clients, starting January 20, 2027. We will notify you in advance and give you the option to continue to use the product for this fee or to cancel. You can opt-out at any time.
With Books Close, you can create customizable workflow templates for your firm, centralize work in one place, and track close status and assign tasks to team members all within the new dashboard.
If you cancel Books Close subscription, your project and task data will be retained and viewable for 7 years.
Yes, Books Close provides access to client data so you can take action on the data within Intuit Accountant Suite without having to open the client’s Quickbooks Online file saving you valuable time.
You will be able to assign a preparer, reviewer and approver to each client’s close and setup tasks for each role within the workflow.
After you subscribe to Books Close, we recommend that you open the Settings page to customize templates, preparer/reviewer/approver roles, as well as statuses. This process is recommended before onboarding clients to Books close and set up off their first close but is completely optional. We will have default options for all of these so you can also quickly onboard using those. Once this is set up, you are ready to onboard clients to Books Close and set up the first close for each client.
We offer transaction checks that catch coding issues within client’s books, as well as, anomaly detection on the balance sheet and profit and loss statement to highlight account level variances including Intuit AI summaries.
Intuit Intelligence chat is now available in Beta to primary and company admins of Intuit Accountant Suite and QuickBooks. In Intuit Accountant Suite Core, you can ask up to 200 prompts/ month about your firm. With Intuit Accountant Suite Accelerate, you can ask up to 1,000 prompts/ month about your firm or your client’s books without switching to their books. Coming soon, Accelerate will also allow you to ask cross client portfolio questions.* In the client’s books, you can also ask questions about their books, which will count towards the client’s monthly total of prompts (Simple Start - 25, Essentials - 50, Plus - 100, Advanced - 200). When clients reach limits on prompts they can purchase an add on of $10/mo for 100 additional queries each month.
