If I have a Quickbooks Online subscription with Commerce is this feature (Commerce) going to be available after August 31, 2023 in Quickbooks Oniine?

"QuickBooks Commerce discontinues after August 31, 2023."  What exactly is Intuit doing with Commerce? Intuit already closed out Commerce which was TradeGecko in 2022 as a standalone product and forced subscribers to sign up for a Quickbooks Online account to continue to use Commerce so upper management could have Commerce as a tab inside Quickbooks Online now you saying this again?

I have already experienced the headache of exporting of data from Commerce to then reimport the limited data(no historical data) to the same exact program.

If I have a Quickbooks Online account with Commerce is this feature (Commerce) going to be available after August 31, 2023 in Quickbooks Online?

CEO Goodarzi either has no idea how to run this organization or has put together the most incompetent management team who has bumbled every step in your company's acquisition of TradeGecko.  I'm so glad after this experience to not own any shares of Intuit.

We have a b2b ecommerce site that operates on Quickbooks Commerce. Is this going to work after August 31?

We already have Quickbooks Commerce bundled with Quickbooks online. We were tradegecko customers and then transitioned over to QBO last year when TradeGecko was taken offline. We use QBC for our inventory and purchasing operations and we also rely on the B2B ecommerce site. Are these things going to continue to work for us after August 31? I've been reading through your replies but I can't understand what is happening exactly. The message in the banner on your website makes it sound like Commerce is going away completely after August 31, so we'd better export our data before it's too late. Please clarify.

I just want to chime in, our company is going through the same thing as you. I've gotten on chat support with Intuit and they are saying the opposite of what the moderators in these threads are saying. That commerce will not exist or be accessible and that we'd better export our data or else. Then they offered a couple of other ecommerce sites that they recommend, etc. So someone is mistaken, either the moderators here or the chat support staff. The chat support staff had a number of copy&paste responses for me, so that makes me think they have been coached and prepared for this. It's all very scary and frustrating beyond words.

Yes this is also what I was told... that none of it will be available after 8/31...unbelievable.  And I thought QB handled the Tradegecko merge horribly a year ago- apparently they are trying to outdo themselves.  They said on chat and on the phone that no B2B & no other QB commerce capability after 8/31 - they said "Quickbooks accounting will be included in Quickbooks at some point will look at including some of those capabilities." and "it will save you money"... How about the hundred hours and thousands of dollars to migrate to it from Tradegecko I had to invest less than a year ago?  My goodness you incompetent goons at Quickbooks...will never ever recommend your products to anyone ever.

I told them in one of the chats that we want every penny back that we paid to them over the last ten months. The agent said that might be a possibility. We should absolutely raise hell. We obviously would have spent all of this time investing in a viable solution instead of this nonsense. Still in shock.

I'm getting contradictory information here.  I have rep. in both the chat and over the phone telling me that the bundle is being discontinued but you are telling me that the bundle will be available after August 2023, "I want to let you know that bundled QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Commerce subscriptions will not be affected by the discontinuation of the standalone QuickBooks Commerce accounts on August 31, 2023."

(Stepping in as a Moderator to help clarify the situation - I am also removing our original response as it has lead to some confusion.)

Please continue reading below to clarify what is and isn’t being discontinued:

We previously discontinued TradeGecko and offered a standalone QuickBooks Commerce inventory management system as a bundle with QuickBooks Online. But, we’ve made the strategic decision to discontinue QuickBooks Commerce as a standalone product and focus on building e-commerce capabilities directly within QuickBooks Online.

The standalone QuickBooks Commerce inventory management product is being discontinued and won’t be available for use after August 31, 2023.

However, we now provide e-commerce accounting features inside QuickBooks Online, which includes the ability to automatically bring in your payouts from your connected online sales channels (Amazon, Shopify, and eBay Connectors). These connectors are NOT being discontinued.

I really have no idea why you all keep talking about "e-commerce accounting". I use quickbooks commerce to manage inventory across multiple channels and receiving b2b orders from wholesale clients...so I guess you are all just hanging us out to dry?

It is just absolute nonsense.  How about reimbursing me the $3000 I had to pay my accountant and team to rebuild my data into the new quickbooks commerce?

This is not an answer to the questions that have been asked. I don't understand why you can't just say "the features you rely on for your day to day business operations are going away." We've put all our eggs in this basket and felt assured that we'd be able to do business here for a long time because Intuit was making the purchase. You keep trying to make us read between the lines and it seems like you are being intentionally vague and non-specific.

It would be nice if as company that you start being honest and straight with customers.  You are removing the original posts because they provided incorrect information (by both moderators and Intuit employees) that if you have the bundle you can keep using Commerce after August 2023.   Phone and chat responses that were provided by Intuit reps. were poorly worded further adding to the confusion. This unfortunately is a perfect example of failed leadership all the way up to CEO Goodarzi.

The company line of "strategic" decision is quite laughable.  As a company Intuit has bumble every single step with its acquisition of TradeGecko.  Why would you spend as company over $80 million dollars of shareholders money to acquire a software company to then just dissolve it?   Quite an expensive purchase just to force users to sign up for an accounting service.  What a shame for all of those TradeGecko employees in Singapore who lost their jobs from this Intuit acquisition which was ultimately for absolutely nothing.

Why would you put customers through the headache of exporting out their data last year (2022), to have just limited data (no historical sales or purchase order) reimported by the customer so that Commerce could be a tab inside of Quickbooks Online, to then once again tell customers that they will need to export out their data this year (2023) because Commerce will no longer be available after August?  From my perspective this looks like Intuit just got in over its head.

Did Intuit even try to find a buyer for the TradeGecko software that they clearly have no clue on how to utilize it to its fullest potential (to at least try to recuperate some of shareholder funds)?  How a CEO can lose over $80 million dollars for the company he works for and still have his job is beyond me but that basically sums up Intuit under CEO Goodarzi "leadership".

So Intuit is now offering an "e-commerce" accounting aspect for sales orders which does nothing for customers like myself who rely on this service to do Purchase Orders, manage Stock Levels to different marketplaces?  This "strategic" move could have been done minus the purchase of TradeGecko.

A response to my questions would be greatly appreciated that is the least you could do for customers.

I just want to publicly add my thoughts here in the hopes that Intuit moderators will deliver the message (ya'll aren't interested in talking to me over the phone or via email): The discontinuation of QB Commerce/Tradegecko is a betrayal of QB's core customer. You took a perfectly decent B2B/inventory system in summer 2022 for a cool $80 million, set it on fire, and walked away - leaving small businesses scrambling to make up for the HUNDREDS of hours and $ spent trying to work within a system you never fully supported. Answer the question: Will B2B and inventory management tools be available in these new, yet to be seen "accounting for e-commerce" version of Quickbooks Online?

I was told no to both of those questions regarding b2b and inventory management on chat and email and then just a bunch of canned non-helpful answers here.  Quickbooks doesn't care at all for helping their customers.  Garbage company

Moderators & Managment:

Please can someone explain if the B2B website will still be available after the new “Sunsetting“ in August?

We were told about an SOS Inventory software that we could export our data to, and that there might be a B2B platform and that the Commerce part could be offered inside another product…

Its all very confusing, we supose that the system will still be available to customers through another product inside Quickbooks, its just super unclear what is happening and if this is just the end?

We have started looking into integrating all our inventory and B2B inside Shopify with SparkLayer but then we miss out on POs and such an easy streamlined system,… what a surprise… this just seems like a misunderstanding …

I fully realize this is an opportunistic reply but I sincerely think it could be benefit QuickBooks Commerce customers and Intuit. We've been working with QuickBooks since 2016 and we were part of their developer success program (made for well designed apps). Erplain is a B2B Sales and Inventory software made for small business (1-20 employees) and we are priced accordingly (starting at $59 with our B2B Store). We are fully integrated with QuickBooks Online, so you can remain in the QuickBooks ecosystem. Please check us out in the QuickBooks app store and let us know if you have any questions.

I completely understand your need to access the B2B eCommerce platform. I'll share some information about this, Incausa.

We've been sending out wind-down communications since April 11, 2023, that customers will no longer be able to use the product to manage their e-commerce business, and will no longer have access to their B2B stores after the discontinuation date, August 31, 2023. However, you can download your data prior to the discontinuation and can leverage the Accounting for E-commerce for QuickBooks.

We genuinely appreciate you for taking the time to be a part of QuickBooks. If there's anything else that you need, we're always right here to help you and ensure that everything will be taken care of.

Hello Maria,

Thank you for the reply.

we are aware of the wind down messages since Tuesday.

1rst • It is imperative that Quickbooks considers that August is the beginning of the busiest season for most businesses/clients using Quickbooks Commerce product, and I urge feedback to reach the executive teams to consider giving us an extension to find alternatives. (TradeGecko, Quickbooks Commerce is the backbone of our business)

2nd • Is Quickbooks Online gonna have a B2B feature and inventory control much like the Commerce Product? And if that is in the plans, could customers prepare to transition within the system?

3rd • What is happening with the domain incausa.gogecko.com ?

I must reiterate the emotions all of us are feeling on this thread and other channels of communication about this abrupt end of software that we all rely to run our businesses with… we feel completely blindsided about this situation, first at least there was a 2 years notice to prepare for a major transfer of our operations into Commerce… now just 5 months, and the news is that there won’t be a system for us anymore… this is inappropriately disruptive, and sincerely I don’t understand what you mean to say when you mention that Quickbooks is here to make sure “Everything will be taken care of”

I really hope that there is a plan for Quickbooks Online to have a B2B platform and inventory control etc… and that we can just sign up for it.

Please get back to us as soon as possible.

"wind down communications" since 3 days ago you mean... via a header bar on our account. What an unprofessional joke Intuit is.  How can you delete a major piece of software for such a large base of your customers in 4 months... ridiculous and unconscionable. Shame on you

oh and telling us we "can leverage the Accounting for E-commerce for QuickBooks." Get out of here with that BS.

"we're always right here to help you and ensure that everything will be taken care of." NO YOU ARE NOT.

Hi, pixelpush310. I'll share some insights about e-commerce for QuickBooks.

Accounting for e-commerce is a QuickBooks Online function that you may use to manage your sales channels. It syncs your sales orders and downloads your payouts. Connecting your sales channel has no effect on your products or inventories in both QuickBooks Online and your sales channel.

Check out our comparison of QB commerce and accounting for e-commerce to learn the differences and determine which is ideal for your business.
