ONLINE CANCELLATION - attempted 4 times

Accidentally purchased online version then cancelled within 20 minutes.  They still charged the account... for about 1 year.  I've tried cancelling 3 times now and they say it's cancelled yet they still charge $70 every month and act like nothing was attempted.  How can I get Intuit to stop stealing money from my account?  We have no business coming in and can't afford paying for services we aren't receiving.  Every time I talk to someone they say it's cancelled... this is the fourth time attempting to get them to stop charging us.  I don't have access to the online account because it was never set up (because they cancelled it don't you know).  I only have access to the desktop version but there is no subscription shown on there for the online version.  They seem to be completely separate.  I have zero information on the online account.  No ID name, no passwords no nothing... just being charged every month.

I also don't like any unneeded charges to my account, and this is one thing that we should watch out for. That said, I'll ensure you're able to cancel your account entirely and stop the charges. 

 

It looks like the cancellation process did not go through successfully. Since you don't have access to the Online account, you'll want to recover it first then cancel it manually. 

 

To recover the account: 

 

  1. Go to http://qbo.intuit.com/.
  2. Click the I forgot my user ID or Password link.
  3. Enter the email address or the phone number (use the email address where you received the receipts or your business number). 
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Select the verification option to start the recovery process. 

 

When you're able to recover the account, you can start the cancellation process. Depending on how you purchased it, you can check this article for the steps: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription or trial

 

If you still need help recovering the account, I would recommend following up with our support again. Since you already have a case with us, you'll want to provide the case number with one of our agents. They'll continue with the steps and help you cancel the account. 

 

On the recovery page, you'll want to click the Contact customer support link. Then, select the Talk to an expert button.

I have a similar issue with Quickbooks Desktop Assisted Payroll. I cancelled since February, this company continues to charge my account for $109 every month, the most recent on August 3, 2021. Totally frustrating. All efforts to stop this has failed. They've cancelled all payroll phones and constantly refer you to links inside the program that are non-existent or simply do not work. WOW. I never thought Quickbooks can get his bad, but they've proven me wrong.

You shouldn't be charged for something that is already canceled. We have a team who can take a look at your account.

 

I would recommend getting in touch with our Assisted Payroll Support, so they can check this for you. They have access to your account.

They have the necessary tool and expertise that helps will assist you in accomplishing this tasks. To contact one, here's how.

 

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Click Help.
  3. Select Contact Us and choose a way to connect with us: 
    • Start a chat with a support expert.
    • Get a call back from the next available expert.

 

Please know that the supporting hours for QuickBooks Online Plus, Essentials, and Simple Start are from 6 AM to 6 PM, Mondays to Fridays. Then, 6 AM to 3 PM on Saturdays. Meanwhile, for QuickBooks Online Advance, support is available anytime and any day of the week.

 

If we pay and file your payroll taxes for you, please make sure that you leave your bank account open until we debit and pay those tax liabilities. Those liabilities may include annual payments, which will be settled when we process your cancellation request form. After submitting your form, we'll review it and send you an email confirmation within three business days. Once we've completed your cancellation, we'll also send you a notice via email.
