I’m here to make sure you’re able to work on your company file on the new computer.
The easiest way to move your files is by creating a backup and putting it in a flash drive. Ready your product and license number and install QuickBooks Desktop on the brand new device. Here’s how:
Check out these articles for the detailed steps: Install QuickBooks and Move your company files to another computer.
Once done, you can now move the backup company file. Follow the steps to restore it on the new computer. I’m adding this resource for your reference: Restore the backup.
Let me know how this goes for you! I'll be here for further assistance if it's needed. Best wishes.
I can't get the new computer to acknowledge my password either!!!!!! (actually same computer but had to reimage)

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
I had to wipe the hard drive, hence I had to start the migration. I CAN'T login to the old quickbooks to reset the password - it does not exist!
Hi there, cjogobye. Thanks for updating us about what's going on with your password.
When a computer is factory reset, passwords for accounts won't be changed in any way. The account that was being used before resetting still exists and has one attached to it.
A password can be reset by using the I forgot my password feature on our login page, as MaryLurleenM mentioned.
I've included a video tutorial for a visual walkthrough on how to reset admin passwords:
If you have your security question answers, a new one can also be created by logging into the Customer Account Management Portal (CAMPS). All needed information will be on the landing page once you've logged in.
There's additionally the option of using our Automated Password Reset Tool if you're having trouble resetting your password. Steps for how to use this application were provided in my colleague's response above.
Here's a resource which might come in handy: What is CAMPs & how do I use it?
I'll be here to help if you have any other questions. Have a good day!
For the Migrator Tool, when you click on lost password help the box that appears states "We can't recover your on-time password, but you can copy QuickBooks again. That will let you choose new password."
But I CAN'T copy it again, it is wiped.
I can reload quickbooks easily, but I don't have any of my data because it is stuck in my thumb drive which won't recognize the One-Time Password that I set up
Glad to see you here in the Community, cjogobye.
I'm here to share additional troubleshooting steps so you can login to your QuickBooks account.
You'll first need to download the Automated password tool for QuickBooks Desktop. You use this to reset your QuickBooks Admin password. Please take note that the version of QuickBooks you last opened your company file with must be installed on your computer to be able to reset your password. Then, follow the steps below:
For more details about the whole process when using the Automated Password Reset Tool, kindly check out this link: Use the Automated Password Reset Tool for QuickBooks Desktop.
If this doesn't work, it would be best to contact our QuickBooks Care Support. They can conduct a thorough investigation to know what's causing this login issue. This way, they can come up with a fix. Below are the steps to contact support:
Please take note our operating hours for chat support depends on the version of QuickBooks that you're using. Please see this article for more details: Support hours and types.
Keep me posted for additional questions or other concerns. I'd be more than happy to help. Wishing you the best of luck.
I'm having the same problem. I created the one-time password on the old computer. When I put the flash drive in the new computer, the migrator won't accept the one-time password. I tried again -- deleted the old migrator files, started over on the old computer, created a new password. And after inserting the flash drive in the new computer, it asks for the one-time password and won't accept the new one either.
I am having the same problem with the one-time password created to migrate. The new computer won't accept one-time passwords I create on the old one for the migration. I have tried this twice.
