Can you manually add a bank account

Can I add a bank account manually and connect it later?  My bank is having issues with the QB connection but they do support a connection.  I would like to ad manually, post transactions, and match them up later when the connection is working.

Hello, R.

I'm down to help you add your bank transactions manually.

Certainly! You can manually import your bank transactions using a .CSV file into QuickBooks Online. Here's a step-by-step process:

  1. Download a specific date range for your bank transactions.
  2. Once done, log in to your QuickBooks Online account then go to Banking
  3. Click the down arrow icon beside Update, then choose File upload
  4. Hit the Browse button, then look for the .CSV file you downloaded.
  5. Proceed with Next
  6. Choose the account where you want to upload the transactions to, then click Next
  7. Map the QuickBooks Online fields with your .CSV file, then continue with Next.
  8. Review the transactions, then hit Next. Click Yes when prompted to successfully import them.

You can read this article for more details about uploading your transactions: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

We can address the connection issues of your bank. Can we have the complete name? We can look at the reported cases specific to it, and provide you with updates or workarounds.

After adding the transactions, you can start categorizing or adding them into your books. When you're done, you have the option to start reconciling your bank statement.

I'd recommend reading this article for a reconciliation guide: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

We're more than happy to answer your questions about the Online Banking feature. You can also ask us additional questions about the areas in QuickBooks Online.

Can you manually add a bank account

Thanks for joining the thread to get help with importing transactions, @78101135276086.

You can use your bank data to import expenses, income, and sales. What you'll have to do is to check the starting and ending date of the transactions from your previous QuickBooks account.

Once done, make sure to get the transactions from your bank and ensure that it correlates with the dates of the entries that you wish to import in QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your bank's website.
  2. Follow your bank's instructions to download CSV files.
  3. Check the date range of the download.
  4. Download the entries and save them somewhere you can easily see them, like on the Desktop.

Once you have the transactions, ensure it's in a CSV file type and organized accurately. If the file size is over 350 KB, you may have to cut it short by trimming the date range or getting the transactions in smaller batches. You can check the format (3-columned) that I'm using:

When it's alright, you can import the bank data in QuickBooks. You'll have to be absolute with the column mapping and date arrangement to ensure you upload the file successfully.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon on the top right and then select Import data.
  2. Choose Bank Data.
  3. Tap the select files link.
  4. Pick the file to upload and hit Open.
  5. Select Continue.

  6. Choose your new account and then hit Continue.

  7. Map the rows, columns, and date format correctly, then Continue.

  8. Include the transactions by checking the boxes.

  9. Once finished, select Continue, then hit Yes.

You'll be able to upload them seamlessly and add, match and categorize them into your new bank account register. For more information, you can reference this article for a detailed guide: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, you can add another bank account by going to the Chart of accounts. You can follow these steps for a quicker guide:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu from the left panel.
  2. Select Chart of accounts and then click New.
  3. Choose Bank as the Account Type and then select the Detail Type.
  4. Enter other details.
  5. Click Save and close.

You can also connect your bank account from your Chart of accounts to QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you need more assistance with importing transactions from your previous QuickBooks account or adding accounts in QuickBooks. I'm always here to help. Keep safe and have a lovely day ahead!
