I've scanned my signature into the quickbooks file and when I go to add it in the printer setup the signature is to small to see. When you look at the saved file it meets the requirements for size but when the file is added you can barely see it. The actual signature is 3" x 3/4" but the image when adding it to the checks is maybe1-1/2 x 1/8". Does anyone know how to fix this. Thank you in advance.

Hi there, @lad474.
Thanks for visiting the Community. I appreciate the screenshot you've shared. I'm with you in getting this fix to ensure the signature image fits into the signature field.
First off, let's verify that the image has an aspect ratio of 11:3 (11 widths and 3 height) to fit into a 3/4 inch wide by 3/4 inch tall area with no space around it.
You can look for the option in your scanner's settings to change the aspect ratio to 2.75 x .75 or select only the part of the page to scan. It should come up as a little box that you can move and resize the signature block.
Once done, save the image in an accepted file format, such as JPEG, PNG, BMP, or TIFF to an easily accessible folder. Following the proper aspect ratio will place your signature above its line.

Thank you so much, I used the crop to get the size correct and then edited it to be darker. The signature is about a 1/2" above the line, is there a way to move it down?
Let's reset your printer settings, lad474.
I've got the steps on how to do it:
Afterward, let's go back to your QuickBooks file, and let's try adding a signature on the Check again.

Good Afternoon,
I've gotten my signature on file. But it is very high above the signature line. How do I lower it?
I’m here to help so you can lower your signature and place it just above the line, @Swampgal62.
You can configure your printer set up to ensure your signature is placed properly. To do that, you can follow these steps:
Once done, add the signature to your check again to verify. Also, make sure the aspect ratio mentioned by my colleague above is correct. This way, the program can resize the signature to fit the area on the check.
I’ve added this reference in case you’ll encounter issues while printing in QuickBooks Desktop: Resolve printing issues.

MadelynC,
I have desktop 2020 and I couldn't figure out how to reset my printer settings following your instructions. Also when I scanned my signature, it didn't give me an option for 11 3 aspect ratio. The size of my signature is fine it is just about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch above the signature line
Thanks for the prompt response, @Swampgal62. I'll share some insight on how you can configure the position of your signature in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Before proceeding, make sure to use the continuous-feed printer, which should be connected to your computer. Just a heads up, other continuous-feed forms can't be adjusted using this method.
Follow these steps to proceed to make coarse alignment adjustments:
If the coarse adjustments aren't successful, you can follow the steps in this article to make fine adjustments in QBDT: Fix print alignment of continuous-feed printers. Just scroll down and select the Make fine alignment adjustments drop-down.
I've also added this link that will surely help in case you encounter different printing issues: Troubleshoot PDF and Print problems with QuickBooks Desktop.

I do not have a continuous feed printer. Just a regular HP OfficeJet Pro printer. After looking through previous questions, it seems as though this has been a problem for years. Everything prints fine on my checks except the signature is way above the signature line. I have tried aligning it and everything moves except the signature. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing additional details of your concern, @Swampgal62.
Since this is still an issue on your end, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care team. They can check your account and see what's causing this to happen and help you fix it.
Here's how:

Thank you, I will do that. But I will clarify, this is not an issue on my end. It seems as thought many other people have this issue and it is a QuickBooks issue. Thank you.
I figured it out! After spending an entire day trying multiple things, I figured it out. When you are creating your signature, make sure when cropping it in the correct aspect, you leave a ton of white space above your signature. When your signature is centered in the box, it will load to the top in QB. If you place your signature at the bottom of the box, it will be placed lower within QB and on your checks. I hope this makes sense.
Wonderful. QuickBooks has been around for years and simple things are still too complicated for the user. I scanned an image into fireworks and set the canvas to 11:3 size and it isn't even close.
I tried your spacing idea because mine prints across the signature line and it made no difference at all.
What about quickbooks ONLINE? I need a solution for this version please.
how about for quickbooks ONLINE?
