Buy now & saveHi there, @fcole.
Yes, you can definitely connect your bank account in both QuickBooks payroll and the bank feeds.
Did you receive any error messages when you tried it? Let me know so I can help you on how to fix it.
In the meantime, you can troubleshoot your browser as our initial fix to ensure that no internet temporary files stored in there, which mostly causes the error. Here's how:
Check if you can now link your account in QuickBooks banking page. If that works, start clearing the cache in your primary browser. Otherwise, use another supported, and updated browser.
For future reference, check out this link to learn more about connecting bank accounts in QuickBooks. It also includes links to fix specific download errors: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Let me know if you need anything else or should you have more questions while connecting your bank account in the system. I'll be sure to help you out again.
Thanks for getting back to me. I cleared the cache. I was able to connect a savings account from that bank but now that account is no longer connected. I am getting the following error.
Sorry, an unexpected error has occurred. We could not fetch your accounts from your bank
Update. The savings account is now linked again. The system is still not recognizing the checking account.
Hey there, @fcole.
Let me help you with your banking concern. To start, can you confirm which bank QuickBooks Online (QBO) cannot connect to? Any other information will help us get closer to a solution and will allow us to see if there's an ongoing investigation about this.
In the meantime, let's ensure that we're linking the correct account. To do this, let's log in to your bank's website and copy the bank URL. After this, follow these steps:
Additionally, check to see if there are any system issues at your financial institution. Also, make sure that your financial institution doesn't have any system issues. It's one of the reasons why we can't link it because it can block the connection between your bank and QBO. By logging into their website, you can see if they have issued any alerts.
Feel free to read through this article for more recommended steps about bank errors: What to do if you get a bank error in QuickBooks Online.
I'm happy to lend a hand if you need further assistance with your QBO account. Have a great day!
Was there a solution? I have the exact issue. Thanks.
Hi there, BD51.
Can you tell us if you're getting an error when connecting your bank for Online Banking? Can you also tell us the name of the bank. We're asking these questions to make sure that we will give you the right steps to sort this out.
Please add a reply below to share more details. We look forward to it.
I do not get an error.
What happens is when I use the link account button I am led to Wells Fargo sign in.
Wells Fargo screen indicates that I have already granted it access to three accounts.
However, the checking account, which is connected to payroll, does not show up in the manage connections of linked accounts, but my other two Wells Fargo accounts do.
I also connected two other bank credit cards without issue.
Thanks.
Thanks for getting back to us and for sharing more information about your concern, BD51.
Allow me to jump in and help ensure you can link your other Wells Fargo account in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Since it indicates on your bank's website that you have been granted access to your accounts, you should be able to link the account in question to QBO. I'd recommend contacting Wells Fargo support to see if there's an ongoing issue causing you to be unable to reconnect your account in QBO.
If everything is good on their end, I suggest contacting our Support team. They have tools such as screen-sharing (remote access) that can pull up your account in a secure environment and check why you can't reconnect your account. They can also perform other troubleshooting steps if necessary.
Here's how to reach them:
To check for our Support hours, refer to this article: QuickBooks Online Support.
For now, you can manually upload your bank transactions in the meantime. For the detailed steps on how to do it: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
Please post again or leave a comment below if you have more questions about this or anything else. I'm more than willing to assist. Keep safe.
Very disappointed not to see an actual soln here except to call Cust Service. I too linked the main Checking Account to Payroll 1st, through Payroll Settings, and now it will NOT connect to Bank Feeds.
And even after spending about ten hours with QB there was still no resolution.
The final and last response of about a month ago was that there was a code error that the QB programmers need to fix.
Hi, @BD51.
Thanks for bringing this issue once again to our attention. I can imagine how important it is to receive timely and effective support when needed and be given a resolution. Let me provide an update about your banking concern.
Upon checking here in the system, we currently have an ongoing investigation about connectivity issues on the Wells Fargo accounts. This means that other users are also experiencing this kind of matter as well. Rest assured that our product engineers are actively working to gather all necessary information, assess the circumstances, and identify the underlying cause to find a solution.
To ensure that you'll be added to the list of affected users, I recommend reaching out to our QuickBooks Support Team again. This way, you'll be notified through email once there's an update about the resolution. Please know that they can only accommodate you Mondays to Fridays from 6 AM to 6 PM PT and Saturdays from 6 AM to 3 PM PT.
While waiting for it to be fixed, you can still add your transactions in QuickBooks Online by manually uploading them. First, download your transactions from your bank using CSV files, then import them into QuickBooks.
Once imported, I suggest you match and categorize them so that the transactions will go to the right accounts.
We appreciate your patience as we work in resolving this. Feel free to leave a reply if you have any other concerns. Take care, and we wish your business continued success.
