I don't always have internet service and would like to be able to email and print invoices if I need too. What do I need to do to change this. I pay for QuickBooks online.
Hello there, @JL6555.
I clearly understood your sentiments. Let me share information about how you can access your QuickBooks Online account.
QuickBooks is the most popular small business accounting software businesses use to manage income and expenses and keep track of the financial health of their business. You can use it for invoicing customers, paying bills, generating reports, and preparing taxes.
It is the most convenient accounting software where you can access your account any time and anywhere.
If you need to create and email invoices to your client, you'll need an internet connection to do the task.
Once your internet is available, you can check this article about creating invoices and email them to your customers.
In addition, if your customer paid their invoices. The next step is to record them. Visit this article on how to track an invoice in QuickBooks Online.
You are always welcome to send any queries you have. Just right them below and I'll make sure to assist you further. Have a nice day ahead.
For your reference
If you are still confused, click our username and you can find our website address to send a direct message if required.
I can't find an export under the gear icon.
Which QB Online region do you have? If you are not sure, login as Primary Admin and navigate to your Billing & subscription menu. What is your monthly bill??
I can help you find the missing feature in QuickBooks Online, @queenie6340.
@Fiat Lux - Asia is correct. Make sure to log in as a Primary Admin. Also, exporting the data needs an active QuickBooks Online (QBO) account to see this normally like the snippet below:
In addition, may I know if you've seen any error messages while navigating the system, like server errors? If so, you can start by logging in to QBO in a private browser to isolate this issue. Your regular browser's cache may be full. This is also why QuickBooks Online features disappear since the browser cannot store data in the browser's cache from the server.
You can select a QBO-compatible browser and utilize its incognito/private browsing mode shortcut keys:
If you log in successfully and export data out of QBO, I suggest clearing the browsing history of your regular web browser. This will empty previously-browsed data that might have caused the issue. Another thing you can try is to use other supported browsers like Google Chrome and Firefox.
As always, please let us know if you have other QuickBooks-related concerns. Anytime, we're here to help. Stay healthy!

I have a question. Once you export your data from online to desktop will you still have access to the data in the online version?
Yes. As long as you pay it, you can access your QBO account.
i HAVE THE EXPORTED FILE WITH ME AND WANT TO KNOW HOW TO IMPORT IN QUICK BOOKS DESK TOP
Which QB Desktop year version do you have?
I'm determined to ensure you can import exported file to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), RAVI JAIN.
When importing a file from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop, not all transactions will be converted. Since there are limitations when converting it, I'd like to share this article so we can review what transactions and information can be moved to QuickBooks Desktop: Find out how your books will move from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.
Also, QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) releases a new version every year and only supports the software for up to 3 years. Before moving it, let's make sure that your QuickBooks Desktop company file, meets the requirements and use QBDT supported version. We may consider upgrading the version of your software to keep your business up and running. Here's an article we can search what supported versions are supported: QuickBooks Downloads.
Details on the process are found in this guide: Export and convert your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.
I've added this article to know more about managing your company data: Limitations when you convert from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.
Please know that we're here if you need help in importing your file into QBDT. Don't hesitate to reach out. Thanks for coming by and take care.

Hi
I exported from QBO, but the files were tiny - max 24Kb! Can I export from QBO to QBD on UK version? I have been a QB customer for almost 30 years and am now returning, but want continued access to my accounts in case the taxman comes asking!!
Are you using QB Online UK version or US version?
It's good to have you back, @HHHLTD.
Beforehand, I appreciate you for using QuickBooks as part of your business. I'll join this thread to provide information about migrating your data and services.
Our top priority is assisting you in remaining compliant. Due to the recent changes to accounting and tax legislation, and more on the way, we have chosen to discontinue all QuickBooks Desktop services for our UK customers on June 30, 2023. This covers all versions of QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, and Enterprise.
Although we won't be offering a 2022 version of QuickBooks Desktop in the UK, you will still have full support until June 30, 2023.
To ensure that you have enough time to make preparations and have the best possible migration experience, we will notify you through email, in-product notifications, and this article that I'll be adding: QuickBooks Desktop discontinuation support hub. It includes answers to your most frequently asked queries.
Let me know how else I can help you with QuickBooks by adding a comment below. I'm here to listen and help. Keep safe.
I have followed Catherine's instructions for conversion from QBO to Desktop several times but I am working with a party who is concerned about the process and am hoping that I can get a few additional questions answered.
1) Does this conversion process work with all "versions" of QBO below Advanced, including Self Employed, Simple Start, Essentials, and Plus? In other words, does a company need to use the Advanced version to perform these procedures?
2) Is the described process recommended and approved by QuickBooks?
3) Is there any risk to the data in the online file due to the use of the described process?
4) Are there any other risks or issues we should be aware of?
5) What is your role at Intuit?
Thanks for your help!!
Good day, Laurie. I'm here to help you clear things out.
Beforehand, we appreciate you for diligently performing the steps given by my colleague.
Hence, if you're referring to a conversion from QuickBooks Online (QBO) in the US to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) in the UK, it isn't possible. Yet, if it's from QBO UK to QBDT UK, then it's possible.
Know that even if it's a process approved by QuickBooks, we still recommend backing up your data because unexpected situations may arise during the process, over which QB has no control.
Moreover, be aware that the QBDT UK 2022 version will no longer be available and that complete support will only be provided through June 30, 2022.
Check out the guides here if you need help with moving your lists and balances: Move lists and balances from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.
Note: Know that you're posting in a US thread, you can click this link to route yourself into the UK Community: QuickBooks Q & A.
If you need additional assistance in importing your data, never hesitate to post again. I'll be willing to lend a hand. Take care and enjoy the rest of the week!
Hi Bryan
What a great service!!
I want to export from QBO in the UK to QBD Professional 2019 – UK Version.
I’m not sure what I have to back up. All the data on QBO? There is, presently, no data on QBD.
I would like to export/import the complete data file, not just particular files, balances or lists.
I am retiring from business after having been a QB customer, and a great fan, for around 30 years. Presumably, if I keep my Pro 2019 programme running, it will continue to serve me even though I won’t be able to update the system.
If it’s all,do-able, where can I find instructions?
Kind Regards
Don
