Join nowUpgraded from QB for Mac2019 to QB for Mac2020 last week, and suddenly cannot download transaction from my TDBank Checking Account through Direct Connect. In trying to troubleshoot the problem I:
In all cases, Quickbook tells me
General Error
We could not connect to your financial institution to retreive a statement. Please try again later and contact your financial institution if this problem persists."
I've reached out TD, and they can't seem to figure out what the problem is. They confirmed that I'm trying to set up the account with TDBank-New, since they changed their security setup last year.
Has anyone else had this problem since upgrading to 2020? I've got to learn not to immediately upgrade these things the minute they come out, and wait for the bugs to get worked out. Thanks!
Hello GoodScout,
You've done the basic troubleshooting steps to see what's going on with your TD Bank connection. There's nothing I can add to it from here. It would be best if you can reach out to our Support, so they can take a look at your setup. They can start a screen-sharing session to understand the issue better.
Please follow these steps:

Hey there, GoodScout,
Allow me to add up some information before connecting you to a live support team.
Upgrading QuickBooks to the latest version will reset the online banking feeds. You need to deactivate and reactivate it to refresh the connection between these two programs.
Before proceeding, make sure to match or delete any pending transactions in your Bank Feeds Center. This is to prevent any issues upon performing the process.
Deactivate Bank Feeds
Once done, you can then re-connect TD Bank. Check out the Set up and use Online Banking (Mac), then go to the Direct Connect section for the detailed steps.
If you need help with the process, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Desktop for Mac. They can do screen-sharing and guide you through the process provided above.

Hi
I have unlinked then re-loaded the accounts with banking set up. I am still getting this error
General Error
We could not connect to your financial institution to retreive a statement. Please try again later and contact your financial institution if this problem persists.
I am getting this will all of my banking institutions, credit cards, and checking accounts. Any help would be appreciated
Let's check what's causing the error when you connect TD Bank in QuickBooks, Kosmic.
Before we start, let's make sure your QuickBooks Desktop for Mac is on the latest release. Doing this will help you get the latest features and fixes. Please follow instructions and detailed steps through this link: Update QuickBooks for Mac to the latest release.
Once done updating the software, you need to refresh the financial institution (FI) list. QuickBooks updates the FI list once a day. Close QuickBooks and reopen it, then try to set up online banking again.
If you're getting the same error, download the new FI Directory (FiDir) file. Here's how:
if you're still unable to use the Direct Connect, make sure that:
I recommend logging in to your bank's website and check any messages. Any alerts can block the connection.
You can also collect Bank Feeds log files and report this to your bank. They can escalate via our OFX Connectivity page for resolution. Just take note of the case/ticket #.
Let me know if you need additional information by commenting below. I'll be around to help ensure you're able to connect TD bank to QuickBooks.
Thanks for the quick response, I am up to date, I tried the library access to work on FI, I do not see the quickbooks file in the Application support file. If I go to applications I have QuickBooks.
I also have tried to rebuild data and get an error and it states contact community.

I can't find Quickbooks in the Application Support file? Any idea why?
I had to start a new login name It would not let me log in as Kosmic
I want to make sure this is taken care of, @Kosmic1. And I'd like to redirect you to our support team to get this addressed right away.
The QuickBooks file should be found in the Application Support folder. Since you can't find the file from there, I recommend reaching out to our Phone Support Team. This way, they can check your account in a secure environment and help verify the file location. They can also help login to your new company file so you can get back to working order.
To reach them, you can follow the steps provided by my colleagues above. Or you can go directly to this link: Chat Support.

I replaced the file and still am having issues.
I am afraid to upgrade and start over Jan 1 2020, not due to rebuilding the company, but fear the corruption will invade a new upgrade. any ideas?

I'd love to get this worked out as quickly as possible for you, and would like to reiterate what my colleague @DivinaMercy_N stated above, the steps taken next should be to reach out to Support. This way, they can get a screen share set up to further investigate the root cause of the issue.
