I hear your sentiments, GStokes.
Did your client already submit your 1099 to the IRS and haven't seen the email invitation? If so, you'll want to check the spam folder in your email to look for the email invitation. If you find it from there, click the link to sign in to QBSE to view your 1099. Here's how:
However, if you can't find the email invitation anywhere in your email, I suggest reaching out to your client to check if they already submitted the form.

Where is the "Forms" tab? I have now gone even further and signed up for "30-day trial" because I have so many of these 1099s from quickbooks to download and still nothing! There's one "client" that appears and it's from 2019. I have at least 15 1099s that have just disappeared into your platform....HOW IS THIS LEGAL??? And before you ask, it has been less than 30 days since I received the 1099 link. All I see is more ads, I am going crazy
This isn't the impression I want to leave you with, jrainierstevens. Making sure to address your concerns promptly about the 1099 is our priority.
You can click the link again. This way, you can view your 1099 form in the Forms section under the Clients menu in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
If the issue persists, we can perform some basic troubleshooting steps.to make sure the issue isn’t browser-related. It’s possible that local internet cache files are the reason for this unexpected behavior.
Let's start accessing your account using a different or private browser. You can use either of these shortcut keys:
If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This is done to speed up the process the next time you do a transaction in QuickBooks Online. Also, an alternative way is to use other compatible browsers.

I’m having the same problems this year and was curious if anyone from this thread figured out what to do?
Hello there,
Have you already filled out or updated your W-9? You should be able to download your 1099 once your employer or client receives your W-9 info and submits your 1099-MISC to the IRS. You'll receive an email indicating that it is ready for download. You just need to click the link in the email to sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

I'm having the same issue. I clicked on the link I received in the email, signed in to my account and nothing happened. Now the link from the email doesn't work and anytime I sign in, I don't see the sender in my Clients list.
So, there's no way for me to actually download the 1099 that was sent to me.
Hi there, @C3RO.
Let me help you sign in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account and download the 1099 form.
It might be that the link that was sent to you already expired. With that in mind, you can request your client to resend the invite for a fresh link to log in. You can share these to your client steps as to how:
For more info, you can read this article: Resend an invitation to QuickBooks Workforce to view their pay stubs and W-2s.
After that, if the issue persists, I recommend contacting QBSE Support to help you fix this and log in to your account to download your 1099.
To know the process of creating a QBSE limited account, you can visit this article: Fill out a W-9 and view your 1099-MISC in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Here I am in this exact same situation and after two years of discussion, there's still no resolved way to accomplish this?
No forms tab. No clients tab. Link sent to me from my client provides nothing. Where's my 1099, QB?
I understand the importance of securing a copy of your 1099-MISC forms, StinkyE. Allow me to share some insights about this matter.
The link that you've received from your email indicates that your client already submitted your 1099-MISC to the IRS. When you open the link, it should ask you to sign in if you already have a QuickBooks Self-Employed account or create a limited one. Once done, enter your tax information, submit it, and view your 1099-MISC.
For more info about accessing the form, you can use the following articles as references:
If you still can't access the Clients tab, I recommend contacting your employer or client to get a copy.
I also suggest getting in touch with our QuickBooks Support Team using your mobile app. This way, they can check your account to determine the cause of the issue and provide additional troubleshooting steps to resolve this completely. Here's how:
Please also check out our support hours to make sure they'll be able to handle your concerns on time.
You can also contact us with the QuickBooks Desktop Support Team by calling the phone number 800-446-8848. Then, they'll be able to route you to the self-employed representative.
I appreciate your understanding on this matter. Please know that I'm determined to get this resolved.
I've already completed a W-9. As I and a number of different people in this thread have indicated, there is no "Clients" and no "Forms" option available; continuing to refer folks to them is ignoring what appears to be a fundamental part of the problem.
Also, the Assistant function on QB has been broken and nonfunctional for quite some time; it just provides a prompt to download the app and use the digital assistant; equally useless.
I can't believe I've been trying to get my 1099 for an hour now.
I've created an account.
clicked on every tab on multiple pages.
filled out 3 feedback reports.
read through 2 pages of angry customers.
and now I'm here.
You suck.
WORST USER EXPERIENCE EVER.
Please pay some people to answer these questions instead of using Ai.
Please get your Assistant function to work.
Please stop wasting everyones time.
I thought about using QuickBooks to do my taxes. Now, I will actively tell people to find another platform.
All I wanted was a 1099, Now I Hope Quickbooks burns to the ground... that's a really bad first impression.
