Same for us. We are missing 5 quarters dated back to 2020. If Quickbooks files and pays for us, then how are we supposed to check this.
Thank you for joining the conversation, Mrswilson.
You should receive a confirmation of the filed forms. However, in this case, it's best to contact our QBO Payroll team so they can check your filing logs in the system. Please follow the steps in this article: Contact Payroll Support.

While creating my 2023 940 form for sending by paper, I discovered I did not file for year 2022. When I tried to complete the 2022 in QB it indicated the 2022 form was changed and no longer available. How to I complete the 2022 940 form?
Thanks
Hi there, @Starion.
Let me share insights into how you can complete your 2022 940 tax forms.
Since you weren't able to file the 2022 940 Forms in QuickBooks Online (QBO), you'll need to file it outside to complete the form. Also, I recommend reaching out IRS for further guidance.
Additionally, I recommend visiting this article to learn how to correct and amend quarterly forms in QuickBooks Online: File quarterly tax forms.
Keep us posted if you need further guidance with the 940 forms in QuickBooks. Have a good one.
I too, need to refile a 940 from 2021. I have Quickbook Desktop Enterprise. There are NO tabs or dropdowns labeled "Taxes" or "Payroll Tax" or "Filings" or "Resources"
I search "Archived Forms" and info regarding1099's pop up with 61 pages to review.
Are you generalizing the steps to take or in what specific QB version will this work, because I do not see any of this.
Thank you in advance for your help!
I acknowledge how much this means to you, Bits. I'm here to provide the necessary information and support.
The Archived Forms, Payroll Tax, Fillings, and Resources are buttons or tabs available in QuickBooks Online.
The 940 filing in the program is for the current year. For previous periods, you will need to file them manually outside of QuickBooks.
In your case, we can generate a Payroll Summary report as a reference when filing the 940 form outside QuickBooks. It covers all information, including your employee's wages, taxes, deductions, and contributions.
If you require additional assistance in manually filing reports for previous years, I suggest seeking advice from a tax professional or accountant.
Here's how you can pull up the report:
