Thanks for posting in the Community space, @Hansenkev.

I'm here to provide some insights about the prompt when you print the 941 tax report.

The possible reason why you're getting the message "do not file report not final" it's because we are still preparing this form to ensure it's accuracy. We're unable to determine the exact date when they will be finished. Rest assured, we will always do our best to release them as soon as possible

Once it's ready you can print and save your 941 forms. Before doing so, make sure to update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release and you have the get the newest payroll tax table.

To print and save your 941 forms, here's how:

  1. Click on the Employees menu.
  2. Select Payroll Forms & W-2s, then Process Payroll Forms.
  3. Click Quarterly Form 941 then choose the Quarter from the small arrow ▼ then choose your Quarter Ending date.
  4. Tap OK.
  5. Select Open Draft.
  6. Click Print for Your Records.
  7. Select Save as PDF.
  8. Hit Save then Save and Close.

You can check out this link for more information on how to do prepare and print them: Learn how to prepare and print Form 941, Schedule B, and Form 940.

I've also added here some resources about Payroll Tax Forms for additional reference:

I'm just a post away if you have any other questions about printing forms in QuickBooks Desktop. I'll be happy to help you out. Have a great day.

Our Quarterly tax form will not prepare.  We do not use your E file option, but our form states DO NOT FILE< FORM NOT FINAL    We need to print this form, sign it, and mail it.   Why can't we get a clean form?

Are we kidding here.     Form is not ready.   This is unacceptable.    Will it be ready before July 31?

Hello, @proactivenelly.

QuickBooks will make sure that you'll not be late in filing your taxes. Just ensure to keep your software and payroll up-to-date so you have the latest features and fixes.

With the payroll update 22012 (June 18, 2020), Form 941 for Standard and Enhanced payroll subscribers is already included. The same with Enhanced Payroll for Accountants payroll subscribers. They already included Form 941 for reporting agents.

Check these articles for more information:

Also, see this how QuickBooks Populates The 941 for your future reference in preparing Form 941.

I'm always here to provide help and answer any questions that you may have. Have a great rest of the day!

The Internal Revenue Service issues an update about the Form 941, hwd1wendy.

As of now, the 941 forms for the Q2 of 2021 are currently included on the lists blocked forms.

Rest assured, our engineers are working with the IRS to ensure the accuracy of the information. The team is working and doing the best to release it as soon as possible.

I've also added this reference that explains the equivalent of each line in the 941 forms: How QuickBooks Populates The 941.

I'm only a reply away to help with any concerns you may have.
