I am using Intuit Online payroll for accountants. It is getting quite pricey. I want to find out if the Quickbooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll for Accountants has the same features.
Glad to see you here in the Community, @Dkm1432.
QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll provides complete payroll features for businesses who want to run payroll in-house. Intuit Enhanced Payroll creates paychecks, calculates payroll taxes, and send direct deposits. Enhanced payroll also prepares and e-files federal and state tax forms such as 940, 941, and W-2. Payroll tax deposits can be paid electronically through Enhanced Payroll.
Also, this gives you the option to add more EIN or companies under it. This means, your clients can use your subscription so they can enjoy the payroll service in their QuickBooks. You can read more about adding EIN in this article: Add an EIN to existing Payroll Subscription.
Additionally, check this link to manage your subscription and services: Manage your QuickBooks Desktop subscriptions and services.

As with the rest of the QuickBooks...
The QuickBooks Desktop payroll offering generally offers many more features and more functionality and is more robust than the QB Online version.
Will Quickbooks Desktop enhanced payroll for accountants continue to be available in 2022?
I've heard some other accountants indicate both ways. I'll need to do some planning if it will no longer be an option. Thanks!
Good morning, @blincolncpa.
Thanks for chiming in on this thread. I appreciate you coming here with your question for the first time.
There have been no updates/information that has stated QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll for Accountants won't be available in 2022. To our knowledge, at this time, you're good to stay with your subscription for 2022.
For future reference, you can always check out this article to see if it is available the follow year: For Accounting Professionals.
Don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any other questions. I'm only a post away. Have a great day!
Sure would be nice if Intuit would let us manage our enhanced payroll subscription. You make it very easy to add clients to our subscription but removing them - not so much.
Just spent an hour on the phone trying to remove some. "Company policy" won't allow agents to tell us how many are on the subscription, or a list of who they are. What? Had to give a list of the ones I wanted to remove and the ones I wanted to keep. Some I didn't have the EIN's for anymore so out of luck there - if they are still using my subscription - too bad for me! We pay you for a service that you don't even let us manage. Ridiculous.

You can find this information in your QuickBooks.
I access it through my company's QuickBooks file that is subscribed to payroll. Go to Employees – My Payroll Service – Account & Billing. Click on "Payroll Details" and then "Manage EIN". Next to "Manage EIN" it gives you a count of clients currently on your subscription. Under "Mange EIN" you have a list of clients and then you can select and remove an EIN you don't want anymore. Hope that helps!
Will Quickbooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll change in 2023? What will the fees be?
With the annual subscription cost of desktop increasing more than double what I paid this year, I would hope that the payroll subscription for accountants would not double in price also.
Hi camperzany,
Thank you for joining in on the thread. I do personally hope that there won't be a change in price.
As of the moment, we don't have any announcement about changing the price of QuickBooks Desktop Payroll. If there is, you'll be the first to know.
I'm just right here if you have any other questions in mind.

If QB Pro is no longer available ( and all I have have is QB Pro 2022) will my QB Enhanced payroll for Accountants still work?
Not sure if the Enhanced Payroll for accountants has the same features, but I have been using it for two years and it accomplishes everything needed for payroll, it does seem to need to interface with the desktop version, so I am still trying to find out if it will continue to work if QB no longer will support the Pro version.
I am not able to add this feature on my Quickbooks desktop for accountants and it is giving me the following error
I appreciate your interest in Pro and Enhanced Payroll products, @Donna.

I have been trying to reach someone to purchase the desktop enhanced payroll for accountants and no one knows what I am asking for. I have been using it at my previous firm and we are dividing ventures so I have to purchase it separately now. Please help.
Hi, thefarmercpa. I can share some insights regarding purchasing the Desktop Enhanced Payroll for Accountants.
On June 1, 2022, we discontinued the availability of Enhanced Payroll for Accountants for new purchases. I just discovered that my last bill charging this service went up 100%. Can you provide a detail of the new pricing table and features available? I have Enhanced Payroll for Accountants Desktop version with a 50 EIN limit.
I understand how concerning it can be to see a significant increase in your billing charges for the payroll service, ArmandoJ23. With this, I'll provide you with the most accurate and updated information regarding the new pricing and available features using Enhanced for Accountant Payroll.
With QuickBooks Enhanced Payroll, you can file and pay federal and state payroll taxes, as well as electronically file W-2s. The base subscription fee is $55.00 per month or $550.00 per year. There is an additional fee of $6.00 per active employee per month, which includes unlimited direct deposits. For contractor payments, there is a fee of $1.75 per direct deposit.
In case you have any further clarifications about your payroll service billing charges, I'd recommend contacting our Payroll Care team. They can securely access your account and investigate any recent changes that might have impacted your billing.

QB fees have been skyrocketing over the last year or two. It's making it hard to keep running my business because my clients can't afford me to pass on these fees to them. Looking for new software but not much is out there. I wish the QB / Intuit cared about their customers more with these unreasonable price increases.
Quicksbooks Online Payroll & Accounting is getting WAY too expensive. Especially for really small business. I am working to move my clients back to desktop.
