Ever since I upgraded to QBDT 2022, QuickBooks will not save my tax payment passwords and other information. I have made sure QBDT is up to date and have uninstalled and reinstalled the program.
Hello, Chris.
I appreciate your time doing the initial steps to resolve the tax password issue. I have one more solution you can do to fix it.
When making tax payments in QuickBooks, you'll be given an option to save your EFTPS password. The box might be unchecked, which is why you're prompted to enter it every time you make a tax payment.
Here's how to check it again when making an e-payment:
QuickBooks will remember the information the next time you make a tax payment.
If you need a reference, you can check this article: Update your EFTPS Internet password.
Do you need to check your taxes and employee contributions? This article can help you pull up an effective report: Create a payroll summary report.
I'm willing to help you out again if you have more questions about your tax payments or your payroll service. Just let me know what you need to do and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
I'm a professional user and knowledgeable about computers! Don't you think I know to check the "save information" box when I submit payments? MY TAX PAYMENT PASSWORD AND OTHER INFORMATION IS NOT SAVING EVEN WHEN THE BOX IS CHECKED!!!
Let me provide you with a few information about tax payment passwords and guide you on what you can do, Chris1980.
There's an ongoing issue about not being able to save EFTPS passwords when going to file forms. This has already been reported and our engineers are working to get this fixed as soon as possible. In the meantime, I suggest reaching out to our support team so you'll be included as one of the affected lists of users.
While the system won't save your passwords, you'll want to manually re-enter them every time you make the payment. Additionally, you can also print Forms 940 and 941 in QuickBooks. I've added this article for your guide: Learn How To Prepare And Print Form 941. Schedule B, And Form 940.
Reach out to us if there's anything else you need about making tax payments in QuickBooks. As always, the Community is here for you 24/7.
I am having the same issue ever since I installed QB Desktop 2022 Accountant version. Multiple calls for support have been futie as whoever answers does not simply understand the issue. Its becoming very frustrating.
Yes, most Intuit support reps don't know how QuickBooks works and so won't know that it is supposed to save your ePay/eFile passwords/pins.
Also, it's likely Intuit didn't test this feature before shipping, or they tested to ensure QuickBooks would send filings but also don't know the pins are supposed to be saved. It's also possible Intuit development knew about the issue before they shipped - and they shipped anyway.
I am having the same problem. E-file/E-pay passwords saved just fine until we upgraded to QB 2022. Now nothing saves. I run payroll for at least 6 clients every week and have to key in the E-pay passwords every time. When I filed quarterly reports last week I had to key in the E-file password for each client. This is a pain. Hope they can figure out a solution and send it through quickly.
It's truly valuable for us to understand how this issue impacts you and your business, Tracy.
Our Product Team is currently investigating the root cause of why the EFTPS internet password isn't saving.
You can contact our QuickBooks Live Support Team so they can add your account to the investigation (INV-63359). Once your account is added, you'll receive updates about the issue via email.
I'm adding this link in case you need help managing tax returns: Set up and pay scheduled or custom (unscheduled) liabilities. It also provide steps if you need to manually record tax payment you've made outside of QuickBooks.
Don't hesitate to post again if you have other payroll concerns. I'm always around to help you.
Same issue here. Only since upgrading to QB 2022. I've already submitted a support email through the Help menu with a screenshot and have not gotten a response. I'm hoping if enough of us complain they will eventually get this fixed. It's so time consuming and frustrating when you're processing payrolls for numerous clients.
I'm having the same issue. It's not saving in any of the companies in which I process payroll on a weekly basis.
I have been having this issue for all of my payroll clients in QB 2022. I tried troubleshooting using the following steps:
- Checked for most recent program updates
- Reset Program Updates
- Checked for payroll updates
- Verified and Rebuilt each company file
- Repaired installation of QuickBooks
Nothing has worked. It would be really nice if this issue can be fixed quickly... We've already been waiting for over a month for a solution.
I too am having this issue, but I've checked the remember my info about 10 times and I doesn't remember it.
I am having the same problem since upgrading to 2022. I have for 3 weeks now had to fill out the epay information and click the save your information button and I come back the following week to pay and it has NOT saved. the payment has been accepted so no problem with my credentials. I have talked to someone on line and said to not ck the box, submit and then next week ck the box to save and it will save. What kind of software update is this??? I am SO sorry I upgraded, other problems too.
Why cant the software people fix this!!
Finally a smart person answered our questions and the software team is working on a fix. The call center needs to know this.
I am also having this problem while running multiple payrolls each week. It started when I upgraded a couple of weeks ago.
How long does it take to get a fix?
Hi JP20212!
I know how convenient it is to have an option to save the details such as the EFTPS internet password. I'm here to help you with it.
Our engineers are still fixing this issue and we don't have an exact date and time when this will be fixed. In the meantime, please reach out to our Support Team so that they'll be able to include you in the investigation.
I added some links you can check. These will show you how to run payroll reports and track your payroll entries by segments:
Keep on posting here if you have other payroll concerns. I'll assist you!
I am chatting with the support person now. the person is unaware of the issue. so far has asked me 4 times if I remembered to select the check mark. it's so frustrating.
THIS IS INSANE. Why is this not fixed as of yet? Millions of users have to re-enter this information over and over daily. Intuit is antiquated in its ability to resolve issues. It is beyond frustrating and each update only gets worse for users. Actively searching for alternatives. The time wasted trying to research issues and work arounds are now more costly than it is to pay for a better quality software.
It isn't the kind of encounter that we want you to meet,
As of now, the investigation saving the EFTPS information is still ongoing. With that, I'm unable to tell as to why and when it will be fixed.
If you haven't contacted our Phone Support team, I'd suggest reaching out to them so you'll be added as one of the affected users.
Rest assured, once this is resolved, either one of my my colleagues or I will get back to this thread.
Also, feel free to pin these references as our guide in running payroll report:
We do appreciate your patience while we're working to resolve this matter the soonest.
Has Intuit found the problem yet?

Same problem here...I have over 30 clients for which I process their payroll. I am having to retype in all these pins and passwords, which is EXTREMELY ANNOYING AND FRUSTRATING!!! QB 22 Enterprise is a let down so far.
Sorry for the rant.
Same problem here. This and other problems with 2022 are very frustrating.
@Jen_D RE: We ask for your patience while this is still being worked on.
Oh, come on. If someone was actually working on this, it would be fixed by now.
