Where Do I File a formal complaint Against intuit Quickbooks deceptive business practice and salespeople?

The Intuit Quickbooks Agent that sold me the ONLINE Version 2022 did NOT tell me that I could simply upgrade My QUICKBOOKS PRO DESKTOP VERSION or how extremely DIFFERENT the online version is VS. the Desktop Pro Version. I don't have time to watch hours of tutorials to make a simple deposit, write checks, or run a report, etc. Quickbooks sales agents are using deceptive business practices. It is impossible to get a Live agent on the phone to help me. I have been with Intuit Quickbooks for almost 20 years. This is no way to treat a loyal customer!

Please note that we always make great efforts to deliver customer satisfaction at all times and to assist and address the concern as soon as possible. I'll ensure you're able to continue utilizing the QuickBooks Desktop to help run your business. 

 

To start with, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support team through the Help icon in your QuickBooks Online account. This way, you can provide and send a formal complaint about your experience with support.

 

On the other hand, as long as you didn't migrate or transferred your data yet from QBDT to the Online version, you can still cancel the QBO subscription. Then, upgrade the QuickBooks Desktop so you're able to continue using the software.

 

Here's how to cancel QBO:

 

  1. Log in and open your QuickBooks Online in the web browser
  2. Sign in as an admin user.
  3. Select the Gear icon ⚙ and choose Account and settings.
  4. Go to the Billing & Subscription tab.
  5. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel subscription or Cancel online. If you're canceling a trial, select Cancel trial.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to finish the process.

 

Once done, you can now start upgrading your QuickBooks Desktop to the newer versions of QuickBooks Desktop. You can open this article to see the steps on how to perform the process: Upgrade your company files after you switch to a new version of QuickBooks Desktop.

Beware of using quickbooks merchant services. Look up online how many instances there are with businesses having their invoice payments withheld indefinitely while their "analysts" review to determine if the money your client paid your business should in fact be released for your business to operate. Yes, you read that correctly. QB has placed a hold on an extremely time sensitive payment needed to meet an event deadline, and will not provide me reasons why, when to expect it, and they use this tactic of placing requests and then making you wait two business days each time before receiving a response. I've read online comments mentioning unethical, criminal, fraudulent, to theft. They just got hit with a $140+ million dollar lawsuit settlement against them. Intuit is a $114 Billion company, yet every interaction I have had with customer service searching for answers for them hijacking my paid invoice funds and paralyzing my business while they kick the can down the road with their "two business day" tactic, probably earning interest on money that isn't theirs, has received the same canned reply you got. My client is furious for multiple reasons, but especially since they used AMEX, who approved the transaction yet QB reserves the right to prevent those funds from reaching their intended recipient. This is getting escalated to reach results and determine ways to prevent this practice moving forward to protect the customers who pay for the services provided, not for services preventing businesses from operating. Wouldn't surprise me if another class action is read about against them. The FTC, BBB, among others are good resources, especially since the FTC is already very familiar with their business practices. Filing a complaint within Intuit or Quickbooks would most likely be a waste of your time. My experience these past fews days had shed a lot of light on who I am supposed to trust my business with. Protect yours and find a company who doesn't restrict you from receiving your money and then uses a policy which prolongs releasing it to you. Good luck.

I am aware about the TurboTax issue. But I haven't come across any litigation issues regarding QB Payments specifically.

How long did it take for Quickbooks to resolve this matter and you receive the funds in your account? I just had the same thing happen to me today where a client paid with a very large invoice with AMEX and was also approved but now quickbooks is withholding and says I will receive a response within two days..

Let me share insights about the deposit times for QuickBooks Payments. 

 

The time it takes to get the money into your bank account depends on your product and payment plan. If you're new to this service, your first set of payments may take a bit longer while setting up your accounts

 

To check your current deposit speed, please follow these steps:

 

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Account and settings.
  2. Click the Payments tab.
  3. Review the Deposit Speed section.

 

Moreover, you can see the status of all your processed payments in the Merchant Service Center. Here's how:

 

  1. From the homepage, select Activities & Reports and then Deposits.
  2. Choose the date range in the Dates field.
  3. Click Search.

 

Successful deposits will show as Funded in the Status column. If there's an issue, you'll see Withheld or Batch Deposit Returned in the column. You can review its details by clicking the arrow ▼ in the Fee column. Also, you'll get an email from us with steps to fix the problem.

I would like to figure out how to file a formal complaint against quickbooks online - I am a small business owner of 2 separate businesses and have never encountered something like I just did - I finally landed a huge job -- deposit = $50K paid on Friday -- still did not hit my account on Monday... spent 1 hour + on hold only to be promised it would hit my bank account by today tuesday 10.18.22 -- but NO... still not there - 

i spent almost 3 hours on the phone today to find out that QBO wants 6 months of bank statements so some random person can review and see if I am worthy to receive the money that was paid directly to me... nope not fair --- I should have just given them my chase banking info but why make life easy using the software and processing systems I pay for for my company (companies) --- so I tried to Reverse the transaction to give the money (which i never got) back to the customer, wait until they receive it and then have them pay direct via chase bank ACH wire -- but now I cant even REVERSE the funds -- QBO is HOLDING the money in purgatory and I cant get it to my account nor will they allow me to give it back -- what the hell is this joke about?  I have asked repeatedly to be transferred to a supervisor, not one person can help - 

this is pathetic -- and I hope all small businesses move away from QBO -- they should be ashamed about how they treat a small family business trying to make it during these times. of all things, i would never have imagined my deposit being held hostage ---

INTUIT QUICKBOOKS COMPLAINT         10-21-2022

 

INTUIT IS STILL NOT RECOGNIZING OR RESOLVING THE MAIN ISSUE THAT CORRUPTED MY ACCOUNTING DATA FOR ONE OF MY COMPANIES. THIS DATA CORRUPTION OCCURRED WHEN THE QUICKBOOKS TECHNICIAN ATTEMPTED TO MIGRATE MY QUICKBOOKS DESKTOP VERSION TO QUICKBOOKS ONLINE VERSION IN 2021.  SOME LARGE CLEARED TRANSACTIONS WERE UNCLEARED. 

 

None of my hard copy reconciliations now match the current company’s data since 2017.  I HAVE NOTBEEN ABLE TO RECONCILE BANK STATEMENTS now for over a year.

 

INTUIT IS ABANDONING THE SMALL BUSINESS CUSTOMERS THAT BUILT ITS SUCCESS.

INTUIT WILL LOSE THE CUSTOMERS THAT MADE THEM A SUCCESS.

Intuit originally started as a very user-friendly tool for small businesses to accurately record money coming in and money going out of a business…no accounting degree necessary. CPAs handle the rest of this process to prepare government required reporting documents, tax filings, etc. 

 

SIMPLE SOLUTION: CONVERT THE QUICKBOOKS DESKTOP SIMPLE FORMAT VERSION TO AN ONLINE VERSION.

We would love QBO to resolve our case of withholding funds as well.  We have been pressing QB for months.  How do we get these the deposit transferred to our account?

I had the same thing happen to me.  The agent talks and talks about how easy it will be to migrate over from desktop to online and nothing will change, EVERYTHING will be the same. BS!  I am so upset as I decided I did not want the online version and was told I would be able to continue using my desktop version and now much of the information is missing.  I have called the past 3 days and keep getting told a supervisor will call me back to assist in fixing and even had the times setup for the callback................and yep no call back received.  I am calling again and will not get off the phone until I get a supervisor on the line and my issue resolved.  I have a been a customer for many years and have had to call in quite a few times throughout the years to have them remote onto my computer and basically uninstall and reinstall the program............I AM SICK OF IT!!! 

TIME TO MOVE ONTO SOMETHING BETTER.............

I have been trying to get my books balanced from the transfer from desk top to online. I have lost 1 day of waiting online, i was transfered so many times I can't remember. I have been hung up on four  times. When they did the conversion my books don't match. Now my desktop is locked and I have my 1099s due today. I can't get to my books. Yesterday I was on the phone for three hours and no one could help me and then the car was lost. At the beginning of every call I give them my telephone number in case we get disconnected. No one has called me back. I feel it's illegal that you have my books and I can't reach them.

I am also looking to file a complaint. I have spent hours on the phone with various agents trying to get incorrect tax info corrected, i.e., them sending stuff to the wrong state. I keep being told it will all be corrected. Today, I discovered that they are filing tax forms with a state I have not worked in in over 10 years. Why? Because I asked to have a form mailed to a relative's address there while I was in another state where I can't get mail forwarded. Intuit/Quickbooks does this so they can keep adding a "multi-state" surcharge onto the base monthly fee, even though obviously I can only be physically located and physically working in one state at a time.

There has been a hold on my account since Friday now. Every time I call they say I have to wait 2 days to know the collection dept. decision. Ridiculous that my customers are paying me and QB is holding all founds hostage.

@GBC2023   Sadly, it's what they do.  I hope you see your money soon.  

Maybe consider switching companies, so you don't run into such issues.  

 

You can also file complaints with the BBB, FTC as well as your State Attorney General.
